Yep! The folks who pay extra for faster service often don’t even check the actual “expedited” EDD and just assume that it will be mailed in the next 12 hours and arrive in 24 hours lolololol.
If your handling time + delivery speed is pretty good regularly, you might consider scrapping the expedited option anyway. Too often you might find yourself refunding the shipping price simply to make peace with an unreasonable customer who didn’t understand or pay attention.
More trouble than it’s worth, IMO, since it’s basically a made-up thing.
Otherwise, you can get labels that say “expedited” or “urgent” to stick on the outside of the shipping package. These labels mean nothing to carriers, but they make customers feel like their request was taken very seriously.
Nah, I make money off expedited shipping. For regular shipping, I eat the cost (free shipping). For expedited shipping, they pay the full cost and then some, so my profit is higher.
I wouldn’t.
Late items sometimes arrive, and are more likely to be returned as they are no longer needed by the buyer. An open return request costs me nothing, and closing it could cause me problems.
I honestly just let return requests expire on their own.
If they file an A-Z some idiot may look at the closed return request as you refused a return (Remember common sense doesn’t apply) and count it against you.
Had a customer file an A-Z for item not received, she requested a replacement and I wasn’t about to send a replacement with the original item not even on the way back yet. I canceled the replacement order and let her know that it was canceled. The original item was " defective." We told her the common issues such as having the wrong surface selected but she insisted she knew better.
She filed an A-Z for item not received and was automatically granted the win. We had to wait 5 more days for the item to arrive (just the item, no packaging, no instructions, spare parts etc…) Filed the appeal with the defense how could she return it if she never received it?
Fortunately we had that one reversed as Amazon funded and they took the hit to the ODR away. BTW the item works fine, she had the wrong surface selected and probably had it in her ears backward.
