Item Report and Shelving

Here at Walmart, the computer decides what shelf to put your items on. I pick HOME and Walmart drill down to the correct shelf (like Amazon uses browse trees).

Fixed all this a year ago. Decided to look at it again.

250 are in the wrong shelf.

For some reason, many landed under Tea Accessories – under appliances.

Fireplace mantel scarves were under actual fireplace mantels

SO it looks like I need to do this quarterly until I’m confident AI stops messing with them.

I think it was ASV who posted that sales tanked unexpectedly because Walmart moved their products as well…

Just wanted to share. This sucks when you complete work only to have to do it again a year later. I’m glad I caught it. Knew it would be a step after uploading a new pattern. Just didn’t think that 1/4 of my inventory would be messed up vs just the new patterns.

Not sure if it was Walmart or a competitor somehow managed to manipulate a locked attribute on our best seller. “Product Type”.

That was something that only an insider I have a contact for was able to get fixed for us and everything is back to normal and growing again.

I’m hopeful that what got changed in your catalog is something you have control over and can fix on your own.

How do you get walmart to “lock” the shelf?

You can’t. Only certain attributes are locked. I am assuming that Shelf is not product type. Product type may only be for certain categories. I’m not too sure. I know far less about how Walmart does things Vs. Amazon.

I must admit that getting Walmart to correct shelving is easier than to get Amazon to correct Product Feed Id’s.
