separating brands which will create a new stock KVUE. I think.

Interesting. GE just did this with all of its divisions - made them all separate companies.

Might also protect J&J (the parent company part) from future lawsuits and such.

Indeed, that is one of the motivations - the talc lawsuits and settlement.
But there are some troubling activities in the courts for J&J which could disrupt this plan.
