Listing "restricted policy violation" after I fluffed up the description, help?

Being a handmade/brand, I write my own descriptions. I’ve been trying to jazz some up a bit on slow sellers.

I added the following to a listing yesterday, only to have it get yanked and dog paged:

Handmade Iolite Amethyst and Labradorite Sterling Silver Earrings, 1.7" total length. Chunky yet compact by design, these multi stone earrings have a rustic personality. Great for dressing up your favorite jeans. Arrive nicely boxed ready to gift:

The bold part is what I added. I also use bold and break html which i have done and do in all my listings since the beginning of time.

I’ve put in an appeal, and removed the new stuff, but I don’t want to touch any other listings until I know what I did wrong - any tips?

Did you check your Performance Notifications? It should say what the problem is.

html code is not permitted with exception of line break

probably got caught by the bot this time …

until the bot catches up …

We have seen others do bold and wish we could … but ???

Amazon tends to not like statements and/or words that can not be backed up.

fact or opinion?

Some words will trigger a reaction …

Maybe … Great for dressing up your favorite outfit.
(jeans might be a trigger)

Somethings we might read and think what?

Not sure how something can be “chunky” and “compact” …
( fact or opinion ? )

Amazon tends to look for descriptions that are in like an ingredient form and fact.
Chunky yet compact by design, vs The design is compact chunky. (becomes a statement)
these multi stone earrings have a rustic personality. vs The earrings have two Amethyst stones and 4 Labradorite stones in a rustic setting. (becomes factual as number and type of stones are expressed)
Arrive nicely boxed ready to gift: vs All earring sets are nicely boxed ready to gift.

Definitely check …

What we provided may help but check to see if a Performance Notification or email has the issue in it.

Late thought … " vs inch … bot might have thought it was part of the forbidden special characters.

Yeah all I got was restricted policy violation. Same when I open the arrow for “more info”

I edited a bunch of listings, this was the one I got most “poetic” with as I was running out of ideas. I’ve put the description back to the prior version and sent an appeal, but was looking to see if one of you had more ideas.

If it’s the bolding, I might have 250 problems…oi.

I don’t want to sound dense, but just double and triple checking.

Because when I get one of these… (which tells me nothing useful)

I almost always also have one of these with the same date (and an explanation of the problem)

You’re sure you don’t have anything there?

Oh it’s there you’re right! I didn’t see it, and tbh the listing issue started yesterday, and I looked there and there was nothing on that tab at the time! But it has the extra info… and guess what…lol…

(i used compact by design to describe the earrings are they are kind of chunky but not terribly big).

Anyway, I have removed that verbiage, so hopefully I’m good on appeal…If not, nbd I will remove and relist - it’s a new item.

AT least now I know exactly what it was and don’t have some major issue ready to sting me in any listing!

Usually in this kind of situation, just follow the steps in the instruction above will automatically fix the issue and resolve the problem in a very short time. It doesn’t even need to open a case to appeal.

Please let us know the appeal result.

Yes, once I edited the listing to remove that one phrase, it resolve itself independently of the appeal.
