At the bottom of every listing there’s a ‘Report this item to MakerPlace’ link.
Sounds like Amazon, and we all know how well that works…
So true. Good point.
This is exactly the downfall of Amazon Handmade. (Well one of the downfalls) When they offered a pro account free, and then “free forever” all the offshore and onshore sellers that wanted to sell free jumped in.
This is why Amazon Handmade has many inspired by Oriental Trading items for sale now.
AND someone from MakerPlace just posted in the FB thread that a digital download experience is in their future roadmap. Sigh. I give up.
Don’t forget to edit titles when copying listings!
Speaking of editing. Still cannot edit variations on sold items. If you have not complained to support, please do so ![]()
Also complain about deleting sold listings. OOAKS are cluttering the inactive listings!
There are so many things for Michael’s to keep working on. Wonky as it is, it is accounting for 30-40% of my sales so I tolerate it.
I read this in a FB post and just tried it. If you mark a listing as inactive, the 3 little dots will then change to show “delete”. I haven’t actually deleted anything but it might be worth a try to see if it will work for you.
Thanks for that tip. I had to “Relist” an item after marked it inactive recently, but didn’t notice the “Delete” choice at that time. Just tried it again, and the “Delete” option is indeed there.
I assume if the system marked an item inactive after it solded out, it should be able to delete it the same way, right?
Talking about complaining, the sales on MP is almost non existent for me, so it’s very hard to work up the energy to do so.
One thing I complained recently was about the Stats not updating, they were already aware of it and the problem was fixed after a while, then a week or so after the fix, I got an email to tell me they are are still working on it. ![]()
Hmm, well that won’t work. Hate to think we will have sold out listings forever. ![]()
Is that picture showing on the public side or the seller dashboard?
It still doesn’t solve the problem of cluttering the inventory list, right?
I replaced the main image of my inactive listings that I would actually like to delete instead of just making inactive. No it does not solve the clutter but for example when I’m trying to reactivate a listing that was out of stock, I have to scroll thru the mess to see what needs to be reactivated. PLUS, since you cannot add more variations to a listing that has had a previous sale, you would have to deactivate the listing and start with a new listing. This is where it gets confusing because you can’t just delete the old listing. ![]()
Now when editing a listing and saving, it takes you back to the same thumbnail page instead of having to navigate back to that page or using the back button. Baby steps!
Thanks for that info. That improvment is better than nothing.
But as someone who has items in different catagories, I still wish they would make the different catagories on the left side panel of the store front page into links, so if a buyer is looking for a items in a particular catagory they can just click that link, instead of have to look through all the different things.
Pinning my 12 best sellers with the 9-16th sale in mind where I will add additional discount to Michael’s footed 25%. It’s frustrating that promotions still has a limitation of 5000 listings (variations included)
Oh absolutely. Especially since search is still so clunky/broken. It wouldn’t be as big a deal if search within store worked. Right now if you search my storefront for “aluminum earrings” you only get 7 items, but if you search for “aluminum” you get all 18. Even tho both words are in all the titles.
Also pinned 12 items to be on the first page. I don’t really have best sellers there, just ones I wish to sell. Taking your strategy of additional sales during 9/6 - 9/16. I put 10% additional discount on those 12 items, just to see if anything will happen this time.
