Listings/Products for MakerPlace

Thanks for that info. I took some time this morning to edit all my listings (good thing I only have 32 listings) to “No End Date”, so I don’t have to think about the listings expire down the road. One less things to worry about now

Some crafting supplies can be handmade. For example, you can make wooden pieces/beads/signs/bird houses for people to paint. You might spin your own yarn or dye your own fabric, etc. These are supplies that can be used for projects.

I’ve got nearly 200 listings now in Michael’s but when using options / variations it is clear that inventory and price management going forward is going to be a nightmare. I want to add lots more because sales are picking up but there are so many issues that will be really time consuming.

I’m glad you’re doing well. I’ve gotten no bites, so I’m slow to add more. It’s a negative feedback loop for me.

Just looked at it. It is getting more traffic, but I would need a lot more traffic to get sales. Someone favorited one item. How do I know which one got favorited?

My only sale was over a month ago, so I wasn’t very motivated to add more listings either. I figured if my Amazon sales is just little drips right now, it’s not surprising MakerPlace is dead.

I just finished my last major FBA shipment for the holiday, so I’ll have some time to add more listings now. Let us just hope things pick up a bid with MakerPlace during the holiday season.

I think I have about 120 listings up or so. The only thing stopping me now is I’m sure at some point they will come out with a way to organize or have shop sections and then I will probably have to edit every listing.

You don’t.

When I got my first one, I looked every where on the dashboard and clicked on each items to look at the product pages on the public side, couldn’t find anything. I have 6 now and recently used the Feedback to ask whether there was anyways to see what they are, and the answer was basically NO, not even on their end.

I am at 69 listings, no sales, 19 favorites, and almost no views. Hesitant to spend more time there this time of year, but who knows, maybe people are favoriting now to buy presents later.

There’s not a sales function yet, right? To put something on sale?

Not yet. I keep adding feedback every few days with a wish list but have not suggested that yet. So many things on my list. Today’s tip is when you make something “inactive”, you better write it down because the only way to find it now is to scroll thru all your listings (in my case 16 pages :face_with_spiral_eyes:)

Maybe note down the page # of the item? Because, otherwise you’ll have to go through the pages to find it anyway.

True but also the pages do change as you add product but you can bring up items (active or inactive) in a search

Good point, didn’t think of doing search for them. Thanks for the reminder.

Some good news for sellers of the free Basic plan.

Originally on the public side, on our product list page, when you scroll down to bottom of the first page of the items, you have to go up to the top again to click “More items” button, then scroll down to the bottom to click the next page number in order to see the rest of the pages.

If you didn’t know there is that “More item” button at the top and click it, the page “#” buttons on the bottom won’t work. I always wondered how many people who happen to be on our store front actually only see just one page of products.

Well, there must be enough people complained about it, and now the “More items” buttons is gone :grinning: Once someone scroll to the bottom of the first page, just need to click the rest of the page numbers to get to the rest of the pages.

Don’t know when the change happened, I noticed it yesterday.

Seems like no one has answered the question of how to get paid for their “digital downloads”…without paying for tracking? I guess fake tracking numbers but they might not show as “delivered” in Michael’s system??

When I see downloads I report them. No idea if it helps or not.

There was an official statement

MakerPlace does not currently support sellers attempting to sell Digital Downloads - but the good news is that it is on our roadmap. Please be on the lookout for an improved digital download experience in the future!

They have said this before but no longer say to report the sellers:grimacing:.

I commented on it telling them it’s a bad idea to allow digital content as you will not be able to find all the handmade stuff buried under digital and it will only be worse on makerplace because of no listing fees.

I emailed them today. They confirmed and said to report. But a search of “digital download” brought a lot of stuff up.

What’s the reporting process?
