MakerPlace Seller Saturday email

You received it yesterday 3/9 and 3/2?

Wonder why I stopped receive them.

I checked my emails and saw that Michael’s had featured my southwest earrings in their Feb 25 email!

Hey, look who made the Seller Saturday email:

Maybe we’ll see some new names popping in?

I posted this in another thread! and seeing this, I deleted my duplication

Thanks @MakerPlace for the shout out

I got the email, and never even noticed. Two bad they did not use the light blue balloon in the graphic.

Good to know they are looking at SAS. We still have yet to sell one item. Though I put that on us. We have been tied up with local customers. The care and feeding of this channel takes work for our small studio team.

That and the Amazon beast, always pulls us away to wrestle the next alligator in the swamp.

FYI, they sent out an email yesterday.

Highlights are:

  1. Survey on how to grow your store on Michaels and Makerplace.
  2. Tips and Tricks on how to offer standout service this holiday season (one
being offering a 60 day return on gifts).
  3. Another 25% of sitewide sale Nov 11 - 18.
  4. Become an affiliate and earn up to 15% commission through 12/31/24

Has anyone here signed up to be an affiliate?

I did. So far I’ve had 4 people visit from my link which is 4 more then I thought would happen since I only use my link on my .com and don’t really do social media :joy:. No sales though. My last item sold was in September.

I think it’s interesting that Makerplace is promoting the sellersasksellers community because I would think they can’t really control the narrative if necessary like they can on their own Facebook group. I also feel like a lot of people coming from there to here might be lost since this place is more than just makerplace and also the reading comprehension from the Facebook group is not on par with what you find here.

I haven’t paid much attention to makerplace (or anything business related really) in the past few weeks since I’ve been busy with all the high holidays and stuff.

I don’t think they have ever done the “best of makerplace” yet have they? I noticed there was a huge delay in them announcing the last round of list and win winners.

I was debating whether to sign up for it but I haven’t sold anything yet on Michael’s, so not sure it’s worth it for me. I mainly do Pinterest, so I guess I could do the affiliate link on a pin. However, my outbound clicks are pretty much non-existent! ha ha!

and me.
It took an entire 30 seconds. If it works, great, and if it doesn’t, nothing lost.
Before I joined MakerPlace, my social media posts had my Amazon affiliate link — which in 5 years made no money whatsoever. Now I show the MakerPlace link. If I make even 10 cents, it’s better than the $0 from Amazon.

This gave me a good laugh.

I wonder if they chose this date to not compete with BFCM?

Possibly. Although, it seems they have a sale every couple of weeks! I did sign up to be an affiliate.

No clue. I wasn’t aware there was such a thing.

I saw there was a promotion for Jennifer Love Hewitt’s holiday gift guide. The youngsters are probably going, “who?”, and possibly some oldsters as well! I’m kind of confused at which products are actually her picks, though. Didn’t Amazon used to celebrity picks. Have no clue if they still do.

Pretty sure she was just given a list of things to pick from. It’s not at all surprising she’s picking things that have already been heavily featured. It’s not like she’s just grabbing the top items in search results either since seo is terrible.

Here is the link that was posted two months ago in Facebook regarding best of makerplace

Somewhere I think in the Facebook group they said they are rotating through catergories for the sales. I am assuming at this point that means something will be on sale all the time.

Black Friday cyber Monday gets earlier every year. Because people will run out of money. That’s why Amazon was doing prime fall days because they wanna get peoples money in October before it’s even November :joy:. There was the whole drama pre Covid about stores being open on thanksgiving, because if you spent all your money at target on Thursday you probably didn’t have any money left on Friday lol.

So at least Covid I think brought us all back a more “normal” of stores being closed on thanksgiving.

So, I just got the affiliate link. That’s not going to work on Pinterest since the product itself doesn’t have a unique affiliate link, correct?

As far as I know there is no way to use the link with an individual item, only point to your store. I’m finally glad they let us pin and organize items because showing off my store with 500 items was a huge mess. It’s still messy though because I have not finished putting all my stuff into collections yet.

Yeah, that’s not going to work with Pinterest. I put it in my profile page description, but how many people really view a profile page? I didn’t put it as my website since I already have a verified one.

One of my bracelets was chosen a few years ago. I haven’t heard about anything since, but maybe that’s because I wasn’t chosen again and I don’t follow their social media.

Yeah, that’s pretty much useless.
