Messaging Has Been Reactivated

Hello MakerPlace sellers: Messaging has been turned back on and is now available for communicating with your customers.

In the past three weeks, we’ve added new security measures to defend against misuse and monitor for new scams. As we implement and calibrate these changes, you may find certain messages get blocked. If you need assistance, please contact us at

• For your security, please communicate with customers only through our messaging tool unless we direct you otherwise.

• We continue to review messages sent through Seller Support and will pass along any messages that require your attention.

• With the return of messaging, we want to remind you that MakerPlace will never ask sellers to provide financial, private, or any other kind of personal information through our messaging system.

If you encounter suspicious communication:

  • Do not engage with the sender or provide any financial, private, or personal information.

  • Do not click on links inside the messaging platform.

  • Report the message to us at [email protected].

Thanks Dave! Will we be able to delete the dumpster of scam mails in our inbox any time in the near future?

Today I found 38 spam messages “account suspension notifications” dated 12/17/24 under the dashboard down arrow. I had not seen these before because I check messages under my profile icon (where spam messages were deleted previously). I did not know that we had messages in two areas. So maybe we have two message boxes?

I think one of the “Messages” is for you as the buyer when you buy things on Michaels website. The Message on MakerPlace dashboard is for you as the seller on MP.

I think @ickynicks might be using the mobile version instead of on PC. I use the PC version, and there isn’t that Dashbord with the down arrow there, as shown in her screenshot.

I’m on a laptop. “Messages” (circled) is from a pull-down arrow under Meredith, NOT Meredithbead, which means it’s a Michaels account message, not a Meredithbead message. When I go to my Dashboard page, there’s no pull-down arrow next to or below Dashboard.

I am seeing this dropdown “second” message box on my phone. That was the screenshot.

I can also access this “second” mailbox through my laptop on the left menu. On the top menu bar under my name, I have no messages. Under the “second” mailbox to the left, is the spam about account deactivation, etc.

Did everyone else know there were 2 message boxes?

I had no idea :wink: I’ve had a Michaels account for years but never thought of looking for messages there.

I was replying to a buyer with the message below. I tried 3 variations and each time it would flag it as “inappropriate content” and not send. I finally changed it to “Thank you. I will notify you when in stock” and the message went thru. SMH
