Microsoft Shared Subscriptions failed today

It seems Microsoft is aware of the glitch and is working on it.

Only my main account can access Word, Excel, …

My shared work PC shows,

Our fiber optic network just went down.

My shared subscriptions are back up and working, but the site still reports issues.
That was a quick fix. About a 2 hour interruption for my day.

I hope it goes up quickly.
I still run DSL via phone lines at home, and cable at work.

Fiber keeps avoiding my home for some reason.

We just got it in our area about 2 years ago … problem in our area is the farmers tend to cut the fiber optic lines when they plow the fields this time of the year. We will probably be down 4 to 6 hours. Took out our internet and house phone.

Yep, looks like most everything is back to normal now. But it was an odd glitch. https://downdetector.com/search/?q=Microsoft

Reminds me of our nightmare 2 years ago. Our power is underground but cable / phone / fiber is above ground, behind the houses on poles. I have 3, 33 story apartment buildings behind me with a golf course attached. There’s a small wooded area between us and them with wisteria and other vines on and around the fence. They grab the wires and pull them down and completely conceal them.

Neighbors cut back those vines and Verizon’s fiber in the process. It took 2 days for Verizon to find the break and pull a new cable to us. It was finals time for my kids and we had no internet…

They ended up at my Dad’s house to do their studying / work because everything is on tablets now.

I was with Verizon’s people the whole time they were working and made sure they put our fiber as high as they could to prevent this from happening again. They wouldn’t even tell me where the break was so I could nicely talk to that neighbor to be careful…

Talking to a farmer about not plowing so deep where the known buried fiber optic lines are is like talking to a telephone pole with a cowboy hat on .

Estimated fix time is only 3 1/2 hours more.

Windstream?

Yep

Faster response then when my fiber was cut. Happened on a Friday, “oh well call you back monday”

If it was just our house, it would be most likely "we can have someone out there on [two days from now].

When a farmer cuts a fiber optic line in the fields, it takes out a whole region. The response it
generally the same day.

FYI: today’s fix was 7 hours ( an hour ahead of their estimated fix time ).

How’s the performance? I assume they spliced it…
