The email is actually sent by the real Michaels to notify us we received a message, same address where other legit email notification come from too. So we couldn’t block that address, in case there is real notices.
If the body of the emails are the same or contain a phrase that is the same, you can set up a filter to catch those emails using the body/phrase content and send them into your spam box without blocking the email address itself.
I logged-in to my MP account this morning (before all those messages started coming), and at this point I’m still logged-in on the dashboard.
When I got those first batch of emails, I did a search of my items on MP and have them showing up, when I clicked on an item, the product page also showed up, and I was also able to click on my store name link to get to my store front page, everything was work around 10 AM.
Right now, my items are still showing on MP, but my store name links from product pages or search result are not working anymore. When I click on the store name link, I got " Access Denied, you don’t have permission to access “xxxxx” on this server" message. Same thing happens when I click “Visit My Live Store” link on MP dashboard.
@Rino , anybody else, are you seeing the same thing I described here?
Yes, I get the same Access Denied message as you describe when I click on my Shop Name from a product page or search page. ETA : or when I click on any shop’s name.
I think I misunderstood the issue. It’s not that they are locked out of their account, it’s that there is an error/access denied message when trying to view their customer-facing shop when clicking on their shop name. I and @Dreamscape-Studio are seeing the same issue.
Thanks for your reply. Sound like the whole site is in trouble.
Is this thing effecting your last minute sales on MP?
I only had 2 orders on MP since Thanksgiving, and really don’t think I’m going to get anymore, so not worried about lost sales there. But hope this fiasco is not having negative effect on the sellers who are getting good sales on MP.
Well I am getting annoyed at how many of these I’m receiving, so I’m going to go on vacation a day earlier than planned, maybe that will stop things for now.

If you receive or encounter any communication of this nature:
Do not engage with the sender or provide any financial, private, or personal information.

That is pretty messed up that they are going to delete all the messages. I have nothing in my inbox as well. I can’t remember if I had any legitimate messages in my inbox from before. I think maybe I had someone message me regarding a return maybe? Nothing recent which I am glad. (Edit: Went back and looked thru my email and I did have a few legit messages previously, they are gone now. This is NOT a good look Michaels).
I’m really just frustrated with Makerplace. My total sales on the platform have been about $800, and I just don’t really think that $800 has been worth it for my own peace of mind and all the drama that seems to happen. I hate that they seem to be focusing on mass produced stuff, I hate that it’s been open for well over a year and they are so slow to implement things. I hate that they still don’t seem be able to tell you how to rank well in SEO. I’m also thinking of exiting Amazon Handmade as well and just focus strictly on my Etsy shop. I know not to have all your eggs in one basket…but at this point it feels like I’m storing eggs in my pocket and they keep breaking every time I trip over some bs from Amazon or Makerplace.
Edit: From the FB page it also looks like they edited that post to say " UPDATE: For security reasons, messaging has been temporarily disabled."
So they have indeed gone the route of Spoonflower (Who is owned by Apollo Group just like Michaels) Spoonflower also disabled their message service last month, so now I can no longer communicate with Spoonflower designers to make size or color requests unless I track them down on instagram or email or some other third party way to message if they even have offered to share that information).
