I got a message from Micheal’s saying my MakerPlace account was suspended and to verify account. Not sure why other than the fact I haven’t been using it much. But now the message is gone so would that mean I am ok? It looked like a legit message but not sure. I did email Micheal’s just in case. Thanks!
There have been a LOT of SPAM customer messages that appear to be from “MakerPlace” or something official.
Someone creates a username that looks official (Michaels should block creation of those names).
Definitely DO NOT CLICK on any links.

It’s a scam. MakerPlace will contact you through email, not the MP message system.
All of these messages are NOT Michaels official messages.

It is ridiculous that Michaels allows customer username/display names like these.
@Dave , not allowing display names like these in customer messages needs to be high on the list of things to fix. It is out of hand.
I might of clicked on it by accident but I sent a message to MakerPlace right away just in case, but I didn’t enter any information or anything.

Yeah. I think this is what I got. It sent a link and I think I accidentally clicked on it but I didn’t send them any info. I also messaged MakerPlace so hopefully they get my message first.
Phishing messages are getting so bad on MP, the senders are supposed from Michaels, threatening deactivation/removing listing/payment stop, etc. Those messages then shows up as an email notification too.
I’m wondering how do we tell the difference between those scam messages and the legit notice from Michaels.
On Amazon, we can check SC to see if there is a notice in our Account health about any problem, so we can tell pretty easily whether any email about Amazon issues was phishing/scam or not. Is there a place on MP dashboard (besides the Message) for official notice of account problem/issues?
Has anybody received any legit official notice from Michaels about something that was done wrong, etc? How was it sent?
I have been bombarded today with scam messages. They so far have sent about 10 identical messages from two separate accounts, one even put Michaels logo as their profile pic. They all say my account has been suspended and want me to click a link. Um, yeah, no. Obviously since I’m in my dashboard, my account has not been suspended.
Official communication from Makerplace comes through email, and not the email saying you have a message on MP.
Look in the email header to see the sender details.

I received 4 identical messages this morning about “deactivation/removing listing/payment stop” this morning, since I can see my store/listings are active, I assume they are phishing scam, but what is disconcerting was those message actual had my name and email address in them, instead of just generic message, so I did email Michaels to verify.
After that there was another same message again, so 5 so far. Since you received 10 of them, guess I can look forward to more of them later.

This! And these actors have to sign in to leave these messages so it should not be so hard to shut them down
Now I am getting a new message every 2 minutes in my email but when I go to report them they aren’t in my dashboard. So annoying!
