More News Coverage of Return Fraud

Estimates nearly 1 in 10 returns today are now fraudulent…absolutely ridiculous.

Talks about “free rentals”, “wardrobing”, “swapping”…just disgustingly entitled fraud.

Does mention Amazon specifically at the end, especially noting the “selecting of incorrect return reasons” that they are tracking now and could get you flagged. Music to my ears.

My problem is I often keep things I ought to return because I don’t want the system to flag me as returning stuff too often.

I’m very cautious of returns for any online sellers as well, but unlike many Amazon buyers, I actually read and research the listing before I purchase.

Such a radical concept. You should be banned from buying online… :smiling_face_with_horns:

I ignore all fake branded(aka Private Label) products online unless I am willing to throw them away if they are trash. Needless to say those throwaway items are not worth the time and energy to return.

Amazingly, most of the Chinese crap I buy works. When it doesn’t the product was clearly being sold by a seller who was acquiring product from a dumpster and that seller was usually removed from the marketplace they were selling on by the time I received my order.

I keep score based on the dollars and time I waste. Few dollars less time. With my 80th birthday just around the corner, how I use my time matters more than dollars.

And I do not buy a lot of cheap Chinese crap, I do not buy a lot of Name Branded made in China product either.

Latest small appliance purchase was Name Branded made in Viet Nam, from a company who knows how to enforce quality controls on its contractors. Fit, finish and function were A+. All of my research was on features.
