My stuff says mail on Monday, but the only options are Priority Mail and above.
I just had a thought. What if I buy shipping and mail as soon as I get the order, but I don’t confirm until it says I have to confirm?

Which means you would be NOT buying the label on Amazon?
If so, then you should be able to buy the label on Monday too from like Pirateship and confirm.
But your bigger problem is what is being promised when the order is placed as this is what is causing the issue.
Do you have AHT turned on?
Do you have SSA turned on?
If you have SSA turned on, what shipping service do you have selected?
How do you normally ship? … USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb) … or what?
I don’t have AHT or SSA on. I usually ship USPS Ground Advantage, which is usually available, but it is not available for a lot of shipments today. I do not want to risk INR.
I have it set to 3 days. The ship by is Friday to Monday (I have weekends off).
Yes, I meant I would buy the label somewhere else and ship early and confirm shipment later, when Amazon wants it confirmed.
It is fart too expensive for me to be buying everything Priority Mail. Shipping is normally $4.68 at the most. Now, it’s upt to $8.95.
If you are using USPS Ground Advantage, you need your transit time set to 5 -8 days on your shipping template. After Aug 25, 2024, Amazon will be changing that to 3-5 days which should still be okay for USPS Ground Advantage. If you use 2-4 days, then there will be several locations that do not qualify for USPS Ground Advantage.
Take a look at this post … it should help you even though it is set up for SSA (which we have done and still always have USPS Ground Advantage available).

And if you would post an image of your shipping template, we could see and make suggestions on how to set that so you will always have USPS Ground Advantage.
Okay. I set it to 5-8 days. The rates were killing me. Thank you.
It can’t that be post as I don’t really see any clarification on what is considered shipping time??
Either way, I still would not trust the word anyways. Let’s be honest, we know more about this policy based on the info on this thread than anyone else.
Based on reports on the NSFE, that might flag you as a dropshipper; it does seem that a lot of them get caught for not entering tracking numbers until the item is well on its way.
It might not be a problem, but personally, I wouldn’t risk it.
Thanks. I was trying to figure out a way to not have to pay for Priority Mail. I’ve never had so many in one day, and I really can’t afford that. I have since done as Lost_My_Marbles advised and changed the shipping template.
I buy shipping label on Endicia. Amazon is still using the label printed time as the start of the Handling time. So, no difference if you use Amazon buy shipping or outside platform.
I tried :
go to post office later — no change in actual handling time
upload tracking number later than before – no change in actual handling time.
final step: print labels on Endicia later.
Do we get A-Z protection if we buy on Endicia? That’s the main reason I use Amazon Buy Shipping.
No, we use them, too…but not for Amazon.
Well, unless you get signature confirmation.
I think the best course of action thus far for most of us is to prepare the packages and have them ready…just don’t print the labels until you are about ready to go to the post office.
It’s a 30 day rolling average so it will take at least 2 weeks of shipping on the last day to show up … and it won’t show up in the numbers until 12 days after the 2 weeks that you have been shipping on the last day.
In other words … if you started shipping on the last day on Aug 5th and continued through Aug 19th, the numbers for those two weeks won’t fully be in the average that you see on the Amazon Shipping gap page until Aug 29th or Aug 30th.
That makes it appear that you have integrated your Endicia with Amazon so when you print Amazon is notified.
I use Endicia but I do NOT integrate the two just for the reason you are facing as well as other concerns.
I’m not paranoid (much) but I put in the tracking numbers AFTER I have gone to the PO or UPS and dropped off the packages. That way if I have car trouble or a crash (or just didn’t feel like going) I am not risking Amazon having notice that I shipped but there is no scan until a day later and a resulting DING by Amazon.
Unless you are shipping heavy duty volume, drop the integration and do a copy and paste of the tracking numbers.
I will probably have 20+ packages tomorrow for a change (more on eBay and another site than on Amazon) and it might take me 10 minutes to put in all the numbers while I still am able to avoid crossing the threshold of the toxic “2”.
Now that I set standard shipping to 5-8 days, I’m suddenly getting orders for Economy Shipping. I’ve never gotten those before. I always made it available, but people always chose standard shipping.
Since I have an extra charge for ‘standard’ I like it when they choose that. It’s a little extra money in my pocket (after lining those of Amazon of course!)
Just remember … on August 25, 2024 (this Sunday), Amazon will change that 5-8 on standard to 3-5 and the 5-10 on economy will become 5-8.
This might be something more sellers will do when the standard becomes 3-5 to entice the buyers to use the economy with 5-8.
If they change it, I will have no choice but to charge them for standard, as the Priority Mail I have to use on Sundays is too expensive to absorb. Will probably charge the difference between Ground Advantage and Priority Mail.
Does printing packing slip count as actual handling time? I can’t seem to move the actual handling time up. I’ve been printing right away but not buying shipping until the afternoon of the first day it says to ship.
No … only printing the shipping label will have an effect on the Handle Time Gap (or when one enters a tracking number on the order).
Question I just thought of…I don’t THINK* it has been clarified.
So, the ODTR window is 14 days. As I write this now, it’s August 20 in Amazon time. The current lookback period is July 31-August 13. Thus, the look-back period seems to always be 7-20 days from the current date.
This enforcement is due to start September 24. However, does that mean it starts with ORDERS PLACED on the 24th…or does it start with whatever the lookback period on September 24 (which would likely be orders from September 4-17) will be?
Just trying to determine when I need to have any new shipping policies/methods tested and in place by…
