Now stranded FBA inventory blocks creation of new shipment for the ASIN?!

Wow, whoever thought this was a good idea should be _________ (any ideas I have are against forum policy).

I sell expirable products. I have one jar that expires next month, Amazon rightly stranded it yesterday. The listing was already deleted from my inventory, I suspect a missing jar turned up recently.

I use sku’s with the expiration date included, still have some in FBA under a different sku but that is running low. So I’m trying to create a new shipment with newer product to send in. I get this error message:

This product cannot be added to the shipment because the ASIN has stranded inventory, meaning that there is no active offer for this listing. To fix stranded inventory so that the product can be shipped again, visit Fix Stranded Inventory.

Did that. Removal order is pending but I am still blocked from creating the shipment. Of course support can’t do anything, that one jar is going to hold up sending inventory to replenish until it physically leaves the FC - could take 10-14 days (up to 90 days during peak removal times).

They have my removal order. It is now a pending FBA order. Blocking me from sending more is STUPID.

Now I am getting emails to fix stranded inventory for this item that I already created a removal order for 2 days ago.
So their removal system doesn’t know the order exists? How much longer will this delay the removal.

Yup…we’ve dealt with this too. Sometimes it’s quick and other times it takes weeks before that removal order actually happens. We’ve had to put up the new inventory as FBM until allowed to send in more to FBA.

Luckily we’re no longer penalized for low inventory fee on expiration dated items. That was so frustrating to deal with both issues at the same time.
