Cringe-Worthy NSFE Moderator Post

Amazon must have put out the word to the mods to go buddy-up with the sellers and this post is just the most painful example. Banal question about Thanksgiving activities and picking winners of the 4 football games with only five replies, four of which were from moderators.
It’s hard to tell if Amazon management is completely tone deaf to the plight of the sellers or just thinks we’re all stupid enough to forget about the problems Amazon has created if we’re just provided inane surveys and ridiculous pablum from the moderators. Unreal.

The rollout of the NSFE brought a crackdown on any non-Amazon related content as well as a mass exodus of the sellers who did most of the heavy lifting (I wonder where they all went?) in terms of actually helping. Less community, less practical advice… Now Amazon is looking around asking “where did everyone go?” so they are just trying to drum up engagement. Sports brackets, giveaways, soporific self congratulatory threads of banality… It’s not coincidence that these threads are primarily seeing participation from other mods.

Katie and her minions had no idea how a forum community works.
Their desire to clean the forum of “negativity” / “off topic” / “vitriol” / etc and dox everyone who participates is exactly why there is no engagement now.
When you go nuclear, there is fallout.
You want people to “hang around” to answer questions? Well, they’ll need something to do so they’ll be there to see the questions. They need a reason to be present. No one wants to be an unpaid support robot. They’ve got to get some enjoyment / pleasure / endorphins out of the time spent.
