Suddenly, I also have a Brazil marketplace account.
I hesitate to bring it up with Amazon, given the above
Suggestions?
I would advise doing nothing @ all, at least for the moment, while waiting to see if Amazon dispatches a Notification that the Brazilian Marketplace account requires Credit Method Manager to be updated.
This presupposes that you do not already have one of the multiple forms of Offer-Listing synchronization in place for the Canadian and/or Mexican Marketplaces.
It is often recommended to follow the same methodology that has worked in the past for those latter two, breaking all synchronization possibilities and placing the Brazilian account in Vacation Mode, but @ this point in time I really think itās better to wait & see what develops, as things are obviously in a state of flux.
On a related note: there have been multiple reports that when Amazon Sao Paulo attempts to āpingā a credit card for verification purposes, a Fraud Alert is issued to the holder, so it might advisable to proactively notify your institution of that possibility occurring at some unspecifiable future date.
It was added to us along time ago. The only thing we suggest is that you check to see that you have no listings in Brazil if FMB and then make sure the Brazil marketplace is set on vacation mode. We do not do FBA but there is a toggle as to whether or not you allow Amazon to buy and sell your product. Others who do FBA might chime in on the pros and cons of doing this.
Amazon added our credit card to the Brazil marketplace (we didnāt). There is a warning on the Brazil marketplace for us to add a deposit method. We have not and do not intend to. It has not effected the US (.com) marketplace.
So in short ⦠vacation mode and do nothing at this point (especially do NOT contact Brazil support).
Youāre lucky. We got it last Sunday and it locked up our account saying our CC was invalid. I could do nothing. Had to add my partners version of our shared biz card to the account, added it to all marketplaces and it fixed the issue.
I wasnāt the only community member here that this happened to either.
On vacation Brazil went and thatās that.
Anyone with a unified North American account will get Brazil eventually even though Brazil is in South America.
While I understand this, I want to give my opinion on South America. Now donāt get me wrong, another vertical in our company has done very profitable work in country(s) in Central and South America.
However, we have found eCommerce to be problematic in the region. Our products, and products we are a stocking distributor for are very, very desirable for those in the region. We started, selling and enjoyed the big bump in orders about 9 years ago. After 6 months it was clear, this is going to be a problem.
The governments in the region including Brazil intercept the orders, customers never get them. We even had people beg us to sell to them and do TTās to our bank. We send the order, they never get it.
It is so odd, since our other vertical, we fly into country, rent a plane or rotary wing aircraft and do our job. No one knows we are there, we depart, the work is done all are happy.
eCommerce no such thing. Everyone wants a piece of the action.
Amazon is dead wrong on wrapping a country in that has such corruption related to imports from America, and likely other countryās.
Just put Brazil on vacation when it shows up.
Yeah, I did that, as I clearly have a BRAZILIAN reasons to do that! ![]()
But when do I get my free tickets from Amazon for my Brazilian Vacation now that I have enabled Brazilian Vacation Mode?
Just as soon as Amazon establishes the Brazilian fee to cover it ???

You may also want to check your FBA settings to make sure your listings donāt populate to global markets. There are I think 2 or 3 settings for that you need to turn off if they arenāt already.

My other account got Brazil yesterday I guess. No issues, itās just there. Didnāt check yesterday but did on Sat so itās a Sunday thing I guess. Why donāt they do this on Friday nights while they are at it⦠![]()
No lights on Sunday night?
Ummmm
Think about it

As of 14Mar2024 (link, SAS, related thread), the SoA Account from which Iāve always posted to both the ASF & SAS has been, at last, āborgedā by the involuntary addition of the Brazilian Marketplace.
Iāve been expecting it to happen for years, ever since the original hullabaloo which āOriginal Susanā played a hand in damping down, @ least until other Amazon-internal factors came into play.
Ten days on, Iām still quite determined to do what I recommended in my initial reply to our friend @packetfireās topic/thread-opening post :
Upon further reflection, I suspect that thereās probably a likely probability that I was rather remiss in not also recommending monitoring any possible notification, with regards to this particular GEI-spawned (āGlobal Expansion Initiativeā) snafu, showing up in Credit Method Managerās accompaniment functionality, Deposit Method Manager.
