So Amazon will indicate Needs Testing (open) and Has Been Testing (archive), but not Testing In Progress (could just be pending). And evidently don’t have a mechanism by which Sellers can indicate that they have initiated the testing process.
Funny. Just got on and read her response and was thinking of posting that exact need … for another tab. Great minds … lol.
Also another update. It seems these won’t disappear like SIPV’s if deleted right away. That means I’m bound to have a LOT eventually because of all my old toy listings.
Fortunately though it shows as “No Impact” … for now.
If you think about it, just because it’s being tested, doesn’t mean it will pass or whomever was getting it tested is getting it tested right and by the right lab.
You can’t assume that because something is in process of testing, that it will pass.
Sucks, but that’s reality IMHO.
I’d call it a win that they went as far as they did with common sense about NOT having the same widget possibly tested by 20 sellers or more.
The other reality is if it’s a legit toy, that testing should have been done and documentation shared with distributors / resellers before it even hit the shelves / marketplaces.
I don’t know anything about toys but just makes sense to me with what we do in that way….
Is there a lot of chatter on the NSFE about this? I haven’t seen anything.
Wondering if they even rolled it out or will.
Kind of like this one below, or the one 18 months before it. All these rules and policies - NONE of them were ever implemented.
The only one they followed through with was the testing for pharma drugs in Sports and Sexual Health supplements which is separate from the other 2 “initiatives”….
There was quite a bit leading up to it, but very little since. Unless you consider Liw, who keeps insisting that the crappy toys she picked up in a thrift store aren’t “toys” (and has actually been admonished by a mod to stop posting about it!).
Yea, I suspect Amazon isn’t being serious about this, in the same vein as what they did with supplements thrice….
Feels to me that they just put this stuff out there to say - We’re doing it regulators - look at our policy and what we sent our sellers….
I’m not sure if Amazon is still not accepting new sellers to supplements (that would be nice), but if they are, they may follow the same path with toys in the future if that’s their new M.O. with stuff like this.
Or just as often, comes back to brag about getting away with something that everyone told her was not allowed.
I really can’t believe that she’s still allowed to sell.
More likely by nuts’ post (can’t think at the moment who that is here) who mentioned that this was the third post on the subject (which means that I somehow missed one of them)
Dang it – that’s what I get for going by memory instead of checking. Yes – I got it mixed around who said what – but I suspect that the both posts put together helped.
