This highlights just how important the social commerce industry is to the ecommerce industry–even if individual Sellers weight its utility differently, and even if Amazon low-balled their last-minute bid.
Isn’t TikTok the #1 reason we have so many scam sellers looking to get rich quick off Amazon? Seems suspicious.
LOL probably currently, yes. But that puts TikTok into the (questionable) company of YouTube, Telegram, Discord, Instagram, and Facebook before them–anywhere an ecomm “guru” can get an inexperienced audience while getting paid simply for content creation, to scam said audience.
ETA: But yes, Amazon is only looking at TikTok afaik.
And speaking of… TikTok now has another 75 day extension because Walmart has joined Amazon, Oracle, and (?!) OnlyFans in putting in a bid.
