China responded with their own 34% tariffs and also they don’t want our Chickens - so they’re staying at home to roost so to speak. China is holding back rare earth exports considering they hold a majority of the market on that front - including having brought up significant supply chain infrastructure (recyclers in the past decade + or so), but their position isn’t unassailable - they are running on fumes and if we don’t consume who will? They don’t have domestic consumption and their population be booming.
Very intersting times; hope we live through 'em in tact/intact

Their warehouses here may or may not belong to them. Of course they will tell you they are their warehouses but most likely 3P logistics providers. They still import under the de minimus exemption either way (or will until the exemption goes away).
Basically they are consolidating containers full of merchandise from 100’s or 1000’s of suppliers in each container and all shipments are under $800 (at least that’s what they claim) even though the total amount for that container is obviously more. Amazon does exactly this as well. There is a reason they changed reimbursements to “sourcing cost”. They import full container loads of goods from many, many companies stuffed into a single container. Then they list each shipment under $800 to claim the de minimus exemption.
Thankfully, that is all going away soon so we can have a more level playing field.
