Oddity with Amazon RFS lately…..

I can’t help but notice that Amazon has started doing RFS minus the return label cost AND minus the original shipping cost on a few of our refunds the last week. We charge shipping on all of our items.

These were return reasons of ordered wrong item and no longer needed is the only common thing I’ve seen so far. Anyone else seen this?

I have seen them refund the return label but never the original shipping without a Safe-T-Claim

Just bumping this again, but with a hearty knock on wood because I don’t want to jinx Amazon doing the right thing.

I also wonder if it might be something about the Buyers for those items, which we wouldn’t necessarily know.

And I did find this at https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=G38BHJQ25PNCLUBU:

Outbound shipping charges aren’t always refunded upon return.

I almost think there was a recent announcement about Amazon now charging for returning some items, but 2025 has been a long year, so I could be misremembering.

Yeah we’ve had 4 or 5 refund like this now so it’s definitely not something that’s due to that specific buyer I don’t think.

I’ve had it refunded for the following return reasons..
Ordered wrong item
No longer needed
Couldn’t install

Matter of fact I don’t think we’ve had one refunded without the original shipping on a buyer faulted return since then.

We always used to just file Safe T claims but this at least cuts down on having to file those stupid ones and gets rid of the one or two a week Amazon denies for absolutely no reason.

Just updating this…all of the buyer faulted returns since my original post have continued to automatically deduct the outbound shipping at RFS (again, on ones where the buyer was charged a shipping fee and was not free shipping).
