We noticed each and every time a customer reaches out to ask when an order will ship and they only placed the order 20 minutes ago, it will end up being a refund/return request.
those are usually drop shippers that will claim INR,. They have a decent system set up where the e-mail is sent automatically after they place the order.
We tell them, after bookjackers have tried it a couple times though one attempt puts us on our guard, we will no longer honor(ie ship) their orders, since their system is apparently disordered. Plus tell them it’s our policy to report such irregular orders to AMAZON.
Admittedly, the last time we did this, after using the same phrasing for years w/ success (have low rate of return w/ almost no fraudulent issues since bookjackers want to stay under the platform’s radar), AMAZON chided us, giving us a policy alert!
Forced to take their communications test-actually took it three times w/ !00%.results each time because their finish button didn’t work properly! Come on, AMZ, I know how to word a business letter- cloak a warning in a velvet glove. I was a banker for years!!
AI seems to be working overtime on the AMZ message system. The next day we received an e-mail, stating that [IMPORTANT] messages will no longer reach those buyers who have opted-out beginning next week, if I recall correctly. Anything that works to a sellers’ advantage, TPTB are going to discontinue!!
Ya, we had to have an Amazon “coaching” call despite not actually doing anything wrong. When the person who called refused to listen to the core issue, I simply told them to hold for a minute and grabbed a warehouse worker to sit by the phone and just say “uh huh” and “okay” till the person on the phone finished.
I blatantly said out loud when I put the speakerphone on, “listen to this person yammer for a while so they can check the box on their checklist. I have real work to do, and they don’t care about our perspective, so just agree to get them off the phone.” I waited till the lady started with her checklist about labeling and went to lunch.
Any request for a gift receipt. (Seller specific, but nobody buys their wife a thermostat as an anniversary gift. At least not if they want to stay married, and if they don’t they are sending the thermostat back anyway.)
Any orders where the buyer asks about the return policy before placing the order or before the order ships.
Any order with a NSFW recipient name.
Any order for multiple pieces of an item I have had listed for years but never sold.
Any order with a recipient name of someone who owns their own rocket company.
The Feds no longer accept AMZ orders, period(because of security concerns due to 3rd-party sellers, who could, perhaps, slip a hacksaw into book orders!! States on their websites can only purchase from Barnes & Noble.).
Though we once received many, we receive very few incarcerated orders now-and have never had one returned! Perhaps because we send an e-mail to the buyer stating we can’t guarantee delivery since there are too many issues within the facility over which we have no control.
Mail delivery to the incarcerated, I’ve been informed, is often the first privilege revoked!!
So I am going to tell on myself, each prison or jail has its own rules. I believe I can order a book and have it sent straight from you to my other half. It can’t come from me. Good point about smuggling in things you’re not supposed to. 6 months down, 9 1/2 to go and I will be on my own after he gets out. Hence my absence in these forums lately. Drowning myself in work and its working.
