Past two days I have been inundated with fake paypal invoice payment requests, but they aren’t fake! They are real invoice requests to real paypal invoices. Don’t get me wrong they are bogus, but each one “seller note” has a message that if you suspect fraud please call (toll free number). A number that isn’t paypal. Not a very cleaver plain, but clearly is getting past paypal filters.

Some messages are originating from paypal itself. Others appear to be exact copies of paypal legit invoice payment request emails, just sent from other servers/email addresses.

Stay alert out there everyone!

Since November, we have seen 3 times the amount of site spam coming through.

If it doesn’t improve next month, then we will pull the IPs & names and set up a filter to block them into la la land.

Same for us. Get quite a few of them - bogus. Have been just deleting them lately, too many to report.

Yep I just send them to Paypal.
I have been getting 2-10 a day
