I bookmarked this tip from @ASV_Vites to revisit in August 2024…is this still the best plan for BFCM2024? What about non-Amazon sales channels? How are you planning ahead for your business?

I would normally support that advice, but I would feel even less confident inventory planning and ordering for the coming holiday season.

I’d like to hear if anyone feels confident in forecasting, we know that major corporations have waffling on their guidances this earnings season.

I have a homemade formula for forecasting, it works pretty well. I’m predicting a bad Xmas (for me). I won’t extend my prediction to others.

  • Amazon announced that its Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday holiday shopping event—from November 21 through December 2—was its biggest ever compared to the same 12-day period ending on Cyber Monday in prior years.

  • More than 60% of sales in Amazon’s store during the event were from independent sellers

  • A new independent study by ecommerce analytics firm Profitero found that Amazon had the lowest prices entering the holiday season, on average 14% lower, compared to other leading retailers in the U.S. for the eighth year in a row.
