I just received this email from Amazon (see below). I only sell my own brands. I don’t sell other people brands. I created all listings myself. I don’t sell on other people listings. I haven’t created a new listing since around 2022. All of my brand listings are at least 4 years old. Some are older.
Gemini concluded that since I’m a Brand Representative, this must be a glitch in Amazon bot. It recommended me to contact seller support to fix this. It even gave me a small piece of text to show seller support:
“We received an NWD removal notice for [my brand] effective 2026-10-28. Our account ([my LLC company]) is already assigned as an Active Brand Representative for [my brand]. Please whitelist our account and clear the erroneous NWD listing block.”
AI is very useful but could be wrong sometimes. Therefore I would like to check with you guys if contacting seller support is the correct way to solve this problem. Please help. Thank you.
A consensus seems to be developing that not only is the message poorly worded, but has also been sent in error to Brand Owners - some sellers have reported being told that by Seller Support, Brand Registry Support, or both.
FWIW, we have not ourselves received this, and we have multiple brands.
Hi @HumbleWarrior , please redact the image where @VitRhea noted a missed brand name, and edit your post to add the updated image. We will then un-hide the topic. It’s important! Thank you!
First check your Brand Registry user/role permissions and confirm that the exact Seller Central account being used to sell is connected to the brand with the Brand Representative role.
It sounds like you might be Brand Administrator but possibly also need to be the Brand Representative.
Or is that too easy and reasonable of a solution for an Amazon glitch?
Do your brands already have a user in the Brand Representative role?
And if this possible cause has already been investigated on the NSFE, just tell me.
Yes; when Amazon first rolled out Selling Roles some years back, it was automatically assigned to the Brand Owners.
That’s what Amazon said would happen, & it worked smoothly for us - but it must be admitted that I’ve seen more than a few reports over the years that the same wasn’t true for some other long-time members of Brand Registry.
Have you done any infringement claims against others recently? We got a message like yours years ago when we IP claimed a listing from a China seller on brand registry and we got the message our listing would be removed and nothing happened.
Not sure if apples or oranges with your issue, but Amazon has been known to send bogus information.
We are the rights owner of our brands also and its the same as yours with “brand representative”
If you are the Brand Owner, the trademark is properly enrolled in Brand Registry, and your Seller Central account has the Brand Representative role for that brand, you should still be authorized to sell it.
This wording is buried in the email you posted from Amazon.
Frankly I’m confusing about the terminology as well. According to this screen, I’m a Brand Representative (see below). Since I could add users, I assume that I’m also a brand admin?
Dogtamer, thank you for many links! I’ve read them all. It took a while but I felt much better. It seems to be a bot gone wild indeed. However as other posters wrote, we can’t know for sure whether the same bot would go wild again and remove our listings in the next 2 weeks Luckily there were a handful of people in those threads that had their deadlines a few days before mine. I’ll be monitoring them to see if their listings get removed when their deadlines arrive.
Thanks for sharing your experience. No, I’ve never initiated any infringement claims. The closest one was about 5 years ago when another seller filed an IP infringement against me. That was the only infringement related incident that I have.
Yes, it seems to be a poorly worded email as dogtamer stated. Since the survival of our business depends on the Amazon overlord, many sellers (me included) assume the worst and try to figure out ways to resolve the issues. I hope it’s really a poorly worded email. We’ll know for sure in 2 weeks from now whether Amazon removes inventories of sellers who got this email a few days before me.
