[Practical Ecommerce] 5 Predictions for the 2024 Holiday Shopping Season

From the story – “Early predictions from Emarketer, ecommerce platform makers, and others had the 2024 Christmas shopping season growing to $271 billion, a 23% increase from the $222.1 billion in 2023.”

I suspect that Emarketer has been hitting the spiked punch bowl a LOT already.

It’s already too late now for another panic pandemic to get that kind of increase, and they have obviously NOT been paying attention to the fact that it’s an election year.

Given some numbers I’ve seen I doubt that it will even be that 5% referred to in the next (not posted) paragraph. That means on an inflation adjusted basis sales will go up minimally if at all in REAL terms and the volume (number) of items shipped might be slightly higher.

Batten down the hatches if you haven’t already. And I’m off to buy more inventory since I seldom pay attention to myself! :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :sob:
