I was trying to create a Prime Big Deal Days for 25 total SKUs but I keep getting an error on 8 of my products. The error is that I have no reference point. However, I have a list price for all of my products. What am I missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you have a list price and a “Your” price on the listings that match each other?
This shouldn’t really matter but are you seeing a green checkmark next to your pricing when you go to edit the listings in the offer tab?
If could be a glitch!
We run a lightning deal almost every week on our hero listing. When I went to set up a future deal the other night I got the errors below and freaked out. This listing has a 2-pack variation on it which is why you are seeing 2 notes below in my screenshot. One of them is a reference price error.
I opened a case and contacted my SAS manager in preparation for an escalation. Case was opened at 1AM EST. Seller Support wrote back at 3:12AM (2 hours later), saying they are not seeing that issue. 5 hours later when I read the email, the error was gone.
I don’t know if seller support did anything (doubt it). I assume it was just a glitch. I tried 6 times before I reached out. I also tried to set up a deal on another listing that was eligible, and it allowed me to. So it wasn’t all listings that had the issue at the time.
I’d try again tomorrow. Might just work. Good Luck!
And thanks for the reminder, because I need to set our deals up.
Thank you. I created the deal yesterday and last night was the first I saw the issue. I edited each listing, even though the list price was already equal to the current price. I changed the list price (to get an error) and then changed it back to the original (matching) price.
As this is not a lightning deal, I don’t see any green checkmarks next to anything. Just the products showing this:
I’m going to open a case with seller support and see if that does anything.
The list price issue started in back Jan 2024 when Amazon revamped advertising and promotions. We ran a promotion about twice a year prior. After the revamp, we could never get our list price to qualify; however, Amazon would send us a notice that our list price was possibly out of date since we hadn’t changed it in a while. (Penalized for being stable?).
Subtle enough that they undoubtedly missed the real message. My wife keeps reminding me that some traits/meanings (such as sarcasm) are very hard to translate for non-native speakers.
Number 2 (and subsequentially number 4) might be the issue. However, there are other skus I have that have a reference price and haven’t sold anything yet.
I guess I’ll just hope things go well next week. We’ll see what happens.
