Product description....is it a no-no to call out our product quality compared to Chinese manufacturers?

We are working on changing some of our product descriptions. For this category, there are a lot of Chinese sellers who are selling crappy quality stuff.

Is it inappropriate for us to say something like “Made in the USA. Our tubing won’t crack or discolor like cheap Chinese tubing”.

I think you understand what we are trying to say…I want to speak to the quality of our product and differentiate it from the cheap crap our competitors (who are in China) sell.

Is this inappropriate or offensive (which I don’t want to come across as)? Or might just talking about the quality of our items and that they are made in the USA be enough to get that point across?

Yes, IMHO, it is.

If Amazon allows sellers to flaunt their product at the expense of other sellers, then the market will disintegrate into a libelous free for all, and buyers will wash their hands and never come back.
This hurts all of us sellers.

You can say “Made in the USA. Our tubing won’t crack or discolor."

What I would suggest is stick to the facts. Made in USA is a fact, use it. Beyond that, do you have any specifications that you can use instead of cheap Chinese tubing?

What I mean is maybe your tubing is 7mm versus competitors 5mm. That is fact that customers can understand while you are not defaming another brand/country of origin, etc.

Maybe you use a higher grade material? I have competitors that use much cheaper polypro material instead of polyester. To someone that doesn’t know, it looks the same but won’t last. Those are facts and you certainly can use them but again don’t go down the “cheap Chinese” road, it’ll come back to bite you. Customers will understand what you are saying without you actually saying it.

I have a steel product that has been knocked off by many, many others. I use high grade steel that will hold up to the its intended use. My product weighs 17 lbs. The competitors knock offs are all around 12 lbs. The difference is the lower grade steel they are using that won’t hold up. I bullet point that my 17 lb weight is due to using high grade steel versus competitors 12 lb weight. I don’t mention actual competitors, I just list out the facts.

I liked your question, though instantly, with all the years we have been here I knew the answer was no.

Not that I wanted it to be. This based on the crap we see from all over the world.

For some reason, the warehouse (FC) will send us a return that is not ours, but the same product family as ours. At first glance, we want to complain, at second look, we dissect the item and learn about what they are doing wrong.

This stuff is so bad, I can not understand why anyone puts up with it. Different product markets, different products they all Sxck. Even some of the items from US sellers, several that we know are made here, but they do not care.

Though the reviews on the product are outstanding! They even include the brand name of the item being reviewed… I wonder why that is?
