Repricers

What repricer is everyone using, and why do you like it? I’m looking to see if I can find a good one that would work for us

Hi @QiaD_1! I’m guessing that you used Amazon’s native repricer already?

We haven’t, no. There isn’t much trust in it, if I’m being honest.

Understood completely. Especially (but not limited to) if Amazon itself is selling on the same ASIN. And we know that Amazon employees are susceptible to bribes and have access to the internal machinations. Some folks have had success with Amazon’s, but that never means that everyone will.

Many of the sellers who have problems with a particular repricer would have problems with any repricer because the cannot set the parameters appropriately due to lack of disciplined thinking.

They can make any repricer behave like an Amabot.

Amazon’s repricer works for some, but as of my last look (it has been some time, I admit) it did not have the full range of options that a dedicated reprice should have. Whether or not it works for you depends on what you need it to do.

I do not use repricing software. Never have, never will. I am entirely FBM and sell used books and other media. There are too many amateurs or megasellers using repricing software to race to the bottom price-wise, and that hurts all of us. I suggest you carefully consider allowing any software to control your prices. Many sellers have had disasters using such software, necessitating the cancellation of so many orders that their accounts were put in serious jeopardy.

Repricers are not appropriate for every business or every situation. And, as @lake pointed out, proper utilization of said repricer is key.

I do use a repricer, and I would never try to manage my business at this scale without one. My pricing rules are such that my prices are not a race to the bottom, nor would my prices ever drop below a minimum margin to make selling an item worth my time.

But consider this: I have ~24k SKUs active at this time. The most I’ve had active at once was ~34k. During covid, supply chain issues caused price turbulence, and the recent tariff issues have caused a great deal more in a shorter time span. If I had to manually reprice all my items every time a manufacturer updated my prices I would spend my entire day doing nothing else, and never finish before the next price change. Even without global supply chain issues or international trade disruptions, prices changes are a common occurrence, and a repricer allows me to update all my prices based on my costs within parameters I set up before hand in real time without lifting a finger.

Repricers aren’t just about competition; they are also used for other things including price updates after a change in COGS, shipping cost (I offer free shipping so that is accounted for in my price,) changes in Amazon fees… All of these things and more can be build into the pricing calculations of a repricer.
