Returns: USPS tracking shows delivered

I did not receive it. Informed delivery says it hasn’t been sent. BUT, USPS tracking shows it working through the system. It never had a first scan, but it shows delivered. I only know this because I had asked for a refund of the postage (which I do at 21 days when they haven’t sent the item), and they recharged me for the label after it was “delivered.”

I suppose, I will refund, because it was supposedly delivered. This is cheap and not worth Amazon giving me a hard time. Just wondering how it is that it does not show sent in Informed Delivery, and I never received it, and yet it was delivered. I am not missing any other packages or mail.

Does it show any progress? If not sometimes they are accidentally scanned as delivered at acceptance (scanner is in wrong mode)

Did you pay for the original label? Why do you ask for a refund of a label for an item being sent to you?

What type of label was it? … Priority Mail … Ground Advantage … First Class letter with scan bar? If it is Priority Mail or Ground Advantage and it was a package coming to you, why wouldn’t you file an insurance claim?

Trying to understand the flo here.

So at some point the package has been scanned in the system. For it to show that it was working through the system, it has to be getting some scans. If the sender’s post office missed the first scan, then the distribution center that is passed through first with a scan would be the first scan. And if USPS shows it has been delivered, then the package ended up somewhere. What zip code does it show as being delivered to?

If the first scan of the item is on or before the last ship by date AND you used Amazon Buy Shipping, wouldn’t you be better served referring the customer to Amazon for an A to Z claim?

This …

And this …

Do not add up … why would you refund an item being sent to you?

Sorry, but your post has conflicting statements.

Yes, I paid for the label.

It shows delivered to my zip.

This was for a prepaid return label.

It’s a prepaid return label. The customer may or may not have sent the product back. It shows not sent on my Informed Delivery emails (I have several emails with that tracking number showing it has not yet entered the system). It does not show a first scan on the USPS tracking, but it shows delivered on USPS tracking. However, I never received it. None of my other packages are missing, so I don’t think it’s stolen mail.

Ok … now it makes sense …

Take the a printed copy of the USPS site showing it as delivered to your post office. Tell them that you did not receive this package and explain the irregularities of no scan other than delivered. File a complaint for non delivery with USPS.

Customer could have done a brain f_rt and taken it to UPS. Amazon has trained customers to take returns there so it could be that the customer dropped it off there. Maybe UPS did some funky scan and passed it along. Just as an what if type check, go to the UPS site and check the tracking number to see what happens.

As far as the refund to the customer … probably the easiest and quickest way to get that part out of your hair is to just go ahead and do the refund … and as you said …

I think if it was something more expensive, I would do this, but it’s not worth my time to follow up.
