Review Manipulation?

Got a weird timed review that didn’t feel right, two starts. Seemed generic and did the typical “there are better out there” statement.

I then noticed can’t contact customer. Assumed they had that set in privacy, but Amazon says it’s because she didn’t buy this product from us or bought over a year ago. weird.

Account randomly posted 20 reviews in a day, with mine being the first.

I assume the other reviews from that account are similar to yours, meaningless, vague, and moderately negative.

Sounds like a dummy account used to do exactly what you said, manipulate reviews.

That’s interesting and news to me. Always wondered why some can’t be contacted with the brand registry tool.

With that said, there are levels… One is totally open. The other is refund only. And then there’s what happened to you.

I’m thinking refund only is those buyers that have opted out of all communications from sellers.

Report that account to [email protected] for possible review manipulation. Attach a screenshot of the 20 or however many reviews in a day/24 hours.

ETA: This won’t help quickly.

I’ve seen this take literally months. Either that or the reviewer had their account flagged eventually and all their reviews zapped.

But we have seen reviews that we thought were questionable suddenly vanish. My bet is it was a bot and the situation above, rather than the reporting working as it should.

And I’m curious whether any Seller has ever opened a case with SS to investigate review manipulation.

I’m back, and here’s why.

I got another negative review, on the same product, claiming our bags are thin – we are guaranteed the thickest compostable bag – and once again the same error. I can’t contact the buyer because either they bought this product over a year ago, or we are not the seller.

So two of our last negative reviews feature the same issue.

Going to reach out to seller support.

I had another negative review, non-verified, that was clearly unrelated to the product – the guy was upset about our ecommerce store so gave our product 1 star – and Amazon never took that one down. lame

Actually, would this ticket be better served created in Seller Support or Brand Support?
