Serving quantity and unit type = incomplete/inaccurate description

A new grocery requirement, format does not fit all scenarios.

  1. Serving Quantity - Provide the number of servings the product provides

  2. Select the corresponding unit

If it is a package of cookies, quantity could be 24 and unit: each. OK, that works.

But for instance a 32 ounce product has 8 4-oz servings, the number of servings the product provides is 8. Those servings are measured in ounces, the unit type.

By only providing number of servings and unit type, it looks like an 8 ounce product instead of 32. Why aren’t they including serving size ??? Answering only those 2 questions provides misleading information - but they are required now.

Is serving quantity 4 oz, or is it 8 because there are 8 (4-oz) servings?

And either way, it doesn’t get to “32”…unless “the corresponding unit” can be 4 ounces?

This is truly bizarre. I guess AI isn’t used to how human fuel consumption works.

It is bizarre. Unit type is a drop down of pre-determined options such as grams, ounces, etc. so it can’t be ‘4 ounces’.

Serving quantity is defined on the page as: Provide the number of servings the product provides

So, for my example, I would choose ounces for type and 8 servings in a jar.
Some pretty ignorant programming there.
Ability to write code is only half the job. Understanding what the coded results should be is most important.

The worst part is I am forced to provide answers to those questions in order to save the listing.

I called catalog support and got a rep who seemed to understand the problem, but of course his available tools can’t ‘fix’ it because it is a programming issue. He escalated it to that department so maybe someday it will be fixed.
