Have anyone experienced being shadowed on Walmart, meaning we have more inventory and more skus then 2 months ago, pricing improved, and sales are down 30%
How much advertising are you doing? It’s become very apparent to us, after being on Walmart for years, that the only way to sell something on Walmart these days is to pay to play.
Our organic sales on Walmart are ~15%. Amazon - 72%…
It’s almost impossible to find a non-sponsored-listing on the first few pages of search in our category at this point. It’s literally insane.
Thankfully WFS is pretty good and it’s a set it and forget it marketplace. Since 2022, we’ve had ~40,000 orders through Walmart WFS. Margin is about 7%.
I used to be big on recommending Walmart. Not so much anymore. They have made it impossible to sell something without paying them a click for it. Every year it gets worse / harder.
The funny thing is we have a very high reorder rate, and somehow, all of those orders seem to be getting hit with a click too. Guess Walmart buyers are too dumb to go to their reorder page?
We have an order tracker setup that identifies reorders based on matching customer first / last name + Zip, since Wally World shares a lot of customer info that AMZ doesn’t. ~40% of our orders are reorders at this point, yet our organic sales have gone down YOY, every year! LOL
Make it make sense… Been doing this a long time and I can usually make sense of stuff like this, but this one has me stumped and disappointed.
So we kinda just ignore the Walmart marketplace and let it do its thing. We are still making a profit but also getting product in people’s hands, continuing to build our brands.
ETA - Thought I should also mention that we have gone all in on our listings on WMT also. Videos, A+ Content through Sku Ninja (the only way to do it). Nothing seems to help this pay to play BS…
Thank you and that makes alot of sense, nut im selling main brand items not PL
Are you getting the Buy Box? How many sellers are on these listings?
