Shipping Multiple Items

Is there an easier way to sell multiple items? Like it someone buys two different items I rather sell shipping at 4 not 8. I read you can put it in bulk and refund the difference but I rather not have to refund after the fact. I sell small items that don’t weigh a lot.

Hmm, good question… @wadeorcas might know, for MakerPlace.

I haven’t seen anyway to do complicated shipping plan that considers the quanity of items sold.

To keep it simple, I’d just add the shipping cost to the price and mark the items as “Free shipping”, that way when people buy multiple items they don’t see a high shipping cost.

In the shipping templates if you have a Professional account, you can set the shipping cost by per order or per item. Per order allows for multiple item sells to only have one charge.

In the example above, APO & FPO have to pay $9.95 per order for shipping. Shipping to the lower 48 does not have to pay (shipping cost is as you say … part of the pricing).

Ok thanks! I will have to figure out how to do that. I sell stickers and such so trying not to make the price too high if I set the shipping to free, but still need to make a little profit. I don’t have the professional plan, just the basic.

Lost my Marbles was referring to Amazon. If you are referring to MakerPlace, there is no difference as far as shipping goes. Pricing free shipping into your product IMO is more popular to most buyers so they do not have to calculate. If a lot of your orders are for multiple items then yes it does matter. For my product, it makes more sense and when I get an order for multiple items, it’s more profit for me. But I understand being in a highly competitive category.

If your customer tend to buy multiple items per order, you can add a lower shipping cost (compare to what it cost to ship a single package) to each listing. That way the listing price with free shipping won’t be too high, and with multi items per order, there will be enough on top of what you wanted for your items to cover the shipping.

I think that’s what I will wind up doing. Do they charge sales tax to customer like Etsy does? Thank for your help!

I don’t know what Etsy does, but MakerPlace does charge tax on orders, they must handle submiting the tax to the states since we were not giving the money.

@Pepper_Thine_Angus would know, the Tech Wizard of the Grand Pumba’s.

I think it a way to keep a thread alive.

That would be its function, but I was wondering more about why/how this happened.

I am sure one of the Grand Pumba’s will reply, I am sure they know the reason.

I am experimenting with the auto bump setting in the MakerPlace by Michaels category.

This is not really the type of topic that needs bumping within the category, IMO, but a data point nevertheless.

I think it does, it is a new market, we (you) need to keep it fresh.
Taken a bit out of context, but I think others will agree.
