Shipping naked (no packaging, no box)

We get to interact with ours about 75% of the time … even if it is just to say thank you.

I have actually spoken to some Amazon drivers who deliver hear.

I am advised of their location by the android app and am notified when they are 10 stops away.

I pull up their progress on my desktop and have gone out to meet them when they arrive - sometimes at the wrong entrance.

On the whole the Africans seem better educated, and are more articulate. And take less time between ten stops away and their arrival here.

Probably because your route is undesirable to a driver and they gain enough seniority for a better route. Our Mass. home was on a route that drivers hated, and there were frequent changes in driver, until one driver decided to stay. He told me about it - I talk to people.

This video says it all…

The bidding is what creates the change over. Our original guy liked it until he lost the bid. After that … well we think some found out the grass wasn’t greener out on the prairie.

Once again Amazon misunderstood the request.
Buyers didn’t say “don’t put my orders in a box”.
They said “stop putting small things in giant boxes”.

It is sad that there seems to be no “common sense” or in between with Amazon.
They always go all in on the nuclear option when a small rock hammer would suffice.

I will warn you all, DO NOT complain over the phone about TBA (Transportation by Amazon) we have, it will not turn out well.

We have a major issue with our temporary apartment, they deliver to the mail room, and 50% of the products are missing. We have clear instructions indicating put the package in the lobby of our building, the left door, near the fire gate, etc., etc…

A clear package or a box that discloses what is inside. 100% guarantee that someone will take it from our mailroom/clubhouse area. 100%.

So we got frustrated, after $400 items were dropped in the mailroom/clubhouse we called support. They instantly wanted to send a new item. I was through the roof, why make Amazon pay more to ship a new item, why make a 3P seller send a new item for free.

All I asked is that they tell me where the driver put the item. They transferred me to a TBA manager.

They listened, did not hear me, and said, “Don’t buy anything for a while, we are putting your account on hold for suspicious activities.”

All I wanted to do is talk to the local TBA contract company manager or owner. I am sure they have goals and metrics just like us. I wanted to help them.

I was beside myself. I did not order on Amazon, my family did not order on Amazon for a month.

This is not just amazon but all companies. They do not listen

Or they do not have a procedure to do what you ask for.

Amazon is particularly poor at exception handling. If it problem cannot be solved by reshipping, there is no solution to a delivery problem.

When a single is shipped instead of a multipack, the only solution Amazon support can offer is a reshipment, which leads to another single. If will repeat until someone in support decides not to place a replacement order. I had it happen, so I know.

With all due respect where it’s due:

The Sun Is Sinking [Slowly] In The West

We have our delivery instructions to go to the “back” door by the dock. Talked to an Amazon driver once and he says that if he delivers back there it’s marked in the system as misdelivered because the GPS doesn’t match up. It’s not that far away. Oh well. We tried.

Earlier this year we got some dress shirts in zip top bags. Not even taped closed. I was humored. When I buy large boxes of trash bags it doesn’t need an overbox. Just throw a shipping label on the thing. But nope…it has to be boxed.

Not according to Peter Zeihan el al. Yes he’s overtly reductionist but doesn’t mean he’s ultimately wrong.

NA = energy surplus, food surplus
Everywhere Else (mostly) = Not so

Unless we have a black swan event in one of these two areas - there is a whole lotta hurt coming despite education or the lack thereof

Also. we tend to import a lot of talent and the cultural makeup will eventually shift - however you wanna feel about it.

I went from my prior post to this.

You’re welcome

Yup I ordered a bra and it had a shipping label on the package. You would think intimate items they would at least bag but nope!

I am also rural and never get items 1 day and/or 2 day. I am lucky to get them in a week usually.

We’re in a rural area. Any clothing we order now is only coming in the manufacturer’s poly bag, with a label slapped on it. We haven’t seen any other ‘naked’ packages yet…

Larger items, Laser printers and such, have always come naked to me.

The SIOC/SIOP setting was available to 1P Sellers long before it was originally extended to the 3P Seller side of the house, way back in 2011, as an outgrowth of the original Amazon Initiative which produced the NOW largely-deprecated FFP (‘Amazonese’ for “Frustration-Free Packaging”) Program.

There is more than a singular object lesson to be found in a study of aforesaid history, and that of its underpinnings…
