Shipping on MakerPlace

If you use Paypal already, you can purchase shipping thru ship station. Accounting records for this will be included in you paypal account for end of year accounting. Same prices as Amazon, Etsy, or Pirateship.

Thank you. That worked. They have major glitches on their site. I can’t get into some of the links directly from the main page. I have to access them through outside links. For instance, I can’t just click on the financial link through the dashboard; it doesn’t work. I have to click through their link in the email. Same thing with this shipping link. I could only get to it through your link. I couldn’t do it through the main page. So, thank you!

Yes, I did that “Add New Payment method”, gave my CC info, it kept telling me my bank rejected it (or something like that), so then I tried with “Pay with Paypal”, gave the necessary info, and just got the running cycle, and didn’t seem to be able to use that either.

Since USPS was able to use my cc, it is good. so maybe Pirateship is having glitch today. I might try it again another day to see if I can al least have the Payment method set up before I need to buy a label.

They have added the option for the discontinued First Class shipping? Did they not get the Ground (dis)Advantage memo?

We set all our offers, only a dozen samples so far with free shipping so non issue for us.

They seem to be way behind the curve on shipping. While they added FCM as an acceptable method of shipping, I hoping that in the future they will offer “buy shipping” for at least GA and Priority.

We have to get our own USPS shipping label outside of MakerPlace, which means getting GA. shipping label.

May I ask if you are still finding the same necessity as of 21Feb`24?

I’ve bought shipping outside of MakerPlace since Day 1. If Michaels offers shipping, I haven’t found it.

Same - I just use PirateShip, thanks to Wade’s recommendation. So easy!

Yes, for MakerPlace I still have to buy shipping label outside of MakerPlace platform.

I’m doing it on USPS website since I already have a business account signed up, USPS Clip & Save rate is same as Buy shipping on Amazon.

Since I have not needed to purchase many labels on USPS yet, I haven’t spend the time to compare it with PirateShip. At one point, I did try to sign up on PirateShip incase I need to purchase return shipping labels, but I was having trouble upload my credit card, so I just give up.

It’s nice that they added GA (and with same rates as Amazon, Pirateship etc with their “enhanced” Click and ship. Used to be only Priority. But I still find it clunky to process a label and without an ACH option.

Don’t know we have never had a sale on MakerPlace.

With USPS increasing prices, I was going to update my shipping prices. I don’t see a place to update–do we not have shipping profiles on MakerPlace yet? Do we have to edit each listing separately?

Unfortunately. The flat file (at least mine) does not even have a shipping price column so that is no help. I offer “free” shipping and would use the flat file to edit the sales price BUT, the price field is not used when the listing has variations EVEN when all variations are the same price. Most of my listings have a variation. What a :poop: show.

I offer free shipping, but an upgrade to priority is an extra fee. So far my Ground Advantage rates don’t seem to have changed so I’ll leave my product prices as-is for the most part. I went through and edited the handful of sold listings that are selling consistently. I’ll have to do the rest on a different day, maybe.

I just overall raised my prices as well from $15 to $16. My shipping is built into my overall price. With Etsy I just have coupons that always available for people to use if they buy 2 or more items. So it was super easy to just raise my prices on Amazon and Etsy.

Makerplace I’ve just started listing new items at $16 and leaving old items at $15 because I don’t want to edit every damn listing on a marketplace where my sales are so minuscule (I’m up to 24 sold orders now on makerplace). I figure if someone whines about a $1 difference I can refund them. I’m really frustrated overall with the platform. At least my Makerplace shop is so disorganized I’m not sure people will even notice some listings are $16 and some are $15 :joy::laughing:

You could just tell them the ones that’s $1 higher in price was because the cost for them were higher.

I have different prices on similar items, and never had anybody complaint about it. I guess t’s possible they could just decided not to buy and I wouldn’t have known it.
