Sigh: Here We Go Again (Notification of Listings Removal)

Not to take away from the tragedy that this is. It is insane, what the bots and Amazon is doing to the OP.

But what about us poor street people. That can not afford a rep to help. Heck, we can’t even post a case number on the NSFE for help since we will not onboard.

Then again, I don’t like kissing frogs, so I don’t often have a case number anyways.

I don’t think anyone can afford a rep at Amazon, it shouldn’t be necessary. Further, I can tell you for certain that I didn’t trip over bags of money on my way to my laptop to respond to this post.

It’s a decision sellers make to manage their risks and get help with the things that bots and blackhats do to sellers on the Amazon marketplace. The precise reason why the OP joined the club and they are being screwed and hung out to dry. If the OP is handling this like they say, and it seems they are on their own with everything, there’s no reason to waste the $.

Now I know “fabric_type” is my current curse.

I did an independent Attribute Change with an SAS Self Service ticket that asked for Bullet Points and Special Features (to be pushed live or added from the worksheet).

The response?

Hello

he changes are not taking place because of fabric_type not having any value set on the background.

“The field ‘language_tag’ for the attribute ‘[fabric_type]’ does not have enough values. The required minimum is ‘1’ value(s).”

Once the attribute fabric_type is updated in the background we can go ahead and complete your request.

Please create a new task once you update fabric_type.

Weird.Again, the one attribute that was so required that Seller Support locked that attribute on all my bamboo listings after they were allowed back with compliance. Wonder if locking the attribute broke something.

I’m curious if your issues stem from something related to the somewhat stringent laws regarding bedding materials. (Kinda like how everything has that tag that says not to be removed except by consumer).

Seems like Amazon caught some flak for something related to that and now their bots are going into overdrive on bedding related items.

It is. The FTC Textiles. You have to say Derived from Bamboo or “Bamboo Viscose”

You can’t leave “bamboo” by itself.

I was taken down for 75 days from March to May this year due to this. The delay was the ability to properly edit the listings to get them compliant due to locked listings, then locked attributes.

I finally got them back, full compliance, while everybody else breaking compliance were left up.

It’s been nearly 7 months since then and half the top sellers still don’t follow the compliance I am once again being taken down for (this time mistakenly).

And, it’s getting worse…

Looks like they tried to update the backend for me and concluded I’m not the top contributor for the listings. I’m the only contributor, since it’s my brand and nobody has license to sell us, so this is rich:

|Hello

Please consider that per Amazon Guidelines the information displayed in the Detail Page and Back End belongs to the highest contributor, there are currently other contributions winning for the attribute values requested. These contributions can come from other Seller or Amazon Retail like in this case, if they have a higher rating than your contribution that is the information that is going to be displayed in the Detail Page, per Catalog Attribute Update and Amazon guidelines we cannot override this information.

We have shared with your AM, the information regarding changing the rating for your contribution if you believe the current attribute information is incorrect or inaccurate, because per Amazon guidelines the information displayed in the Detail Page belongs to the highest contributor for the attributes. Please reach out to Brand Registry and Seller Support Teams if further information/assistance is required.

Unfortunately, per Amazon Policy we cannot share a screenshot of the winning contributions, because we review this information with our internal tools and they are not seller facing, but you can confirm this information with your AM.

Kindly do not reopen the task, for more clarification check with CSM/AM, as they will help you in better way.

In short, I can’t edit my listings because they are not my listings? Makes sense.

Is this from a SAS escalation email or regular support?

Wow, that’s incredible.

Hopefully your SAS manager can straighten this out for you in the next 48 hours.

Brand Registered :white_check_mark:
Only seller :white_check_mark:
Not the winning contributor :x:

Speechless…

The unpalatable fruits of Amazon’s Global Expansion Initiative, writ right large.

@casbboy, may I ask if there’s any indication of which entity might be the one to which Amazon’s automated mechanisms have assigned the role of Winning Contributor, for the ASINs in question, via the “Scour All Global Marketplaces” functionality of Brand Registry’s RaV Tool?

It’s possible Amazon.com or Warehouse deals was on your listing at some point, and Amazon retail now has “control” of the page.

I would normally say someone hijacked your listing, but there’s nobody else on it so that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Interesting…and a good possible explanation.

Not right or fair by any means @casbboy but another example of Amazon making it too hard for 3P Sellers and 3P brands, while benefitting themselves.

Yea, I agree. I’m sure that at some point there was a return that they resold at a discount because it wasn’t perfect - (open package, etc.)

I thought we had issues with Amazon and stupid issues / glitches. The OP takes this unfortunate cake.

I’m still relatively confident that SAS will get this done for the OP.

  • The issue has been identified that caused the initial problem.
  • The issue has been identified that is causing this issue to be hard to fix.

Let’s think positively here for a second. And maybe some prayers

I’m the only offer for US, CA, MX. But after that it goes off the rails. 3 to 7 offers everywhere else.

Since 2018 we’ve seen this a few times, where Amazon is another Seller option, selling something akin to Open Box, but it is rare. When it comes to sheets, they are nearly impossible to consider sellable once the package has been opened.

That’s absolutely disgusting.

I’ve seen offers for used supplements before though (which isn’t allowed, but these ASINs were in the wrong category or something), so unfortunately it’s not surprising.

damn. it’s getting worse. I’ve sent an excel spreadsheet to my SAS with all 14 ASINs to be “internally” corrected, as I can’t edit multiple ASINs now and the most important attribute is locked to me.

And the follow-up message? All of my listings – all 14 for bamboo – are going to have their offers removed tomorrow, October 17th, because, though they are compliant, they are not “internally” compliant, and that’s all that matters.

They will indefinitely be Removed until the I make the corrections. Corrections I cannot make nor am allowed to make.

And, just cause they need icing on the cake.

I’m required to have this also:

  1. Properly display the import designation by labeling whether the product was one or more of the following:

(i) Made in USA
(ii) Imported
(iii) Made in USA or Imported
(iv) Made in USA and Imported

They showed me that I can choose the label under “Offer” tab. But, it doesn’t exist at all for me. I downloaded the Category template file, it’s not there either.

Another attribute, I’m going to get removed for, that doesn’t exist for my listings.

As predicted and on schedule: all my bamboo listings are locked to me now. I’m expecting the next update from SAS is that I have to delete them all and start again to get the fix done, or they pull a miracle and update the internal side for me.

I don’t know how delete and re-add is the fix – save for allowing me to update attributes on my end – as this is exactly what I did in May.

We just received a notification…
