When you get these do you bother with Signature confirmation?
I tend to just use Amazon buy shipping and let it be their problem.

We occasionally get orders going to a reshipper which are big $ amounts. Those are the ones we put signature requests on.
I donât. So far, havenât had an issue.
I agree with @Thelunatick if a small order, I would let Amazon deal with it, that is the use Amazon Buy Shipping Deal.
I do recall in the OSFE or here, that they do this when they have had a problem with a customer.
I also agree with @JustMe123 if it was a large order I would do the Sig-Con, as we always do.
I have just let it go unless Amazon has flagged the address.
I think itâs a judgement call having to weigh your sales and what percentage of the week is going out in one order. I donât use âbuy shippingâ since I have very few INR claims and most of my stuff is cheap (inexpensive, as in $20 and under) anyway.
If business was MORE slow and I had one order for half of the total for the week it would be a different decision.
As to the forwarders/reshippers mentioned by JustMe123 I just ship since Amazon says all I have to show is the package was delivered with tracking for those. WHY they have a different rule than normal shipments is another Amazon inconsistency.
How do you know if Amazon has flagged the address?
if you go into orders on Amazon Seller central it will have a âsignature confirmation recommendedâ banner under the unshipped banner.
This is Amazonâs way of saying the customer has a lot of INR"s
Wow, I learned something new today. Thanks for sharing that tidbit! We automatically grab our orders into our database and donât regularly go and look at the orders waiting to be shipped in seller central. I will be doing that more regularly now.
Until recently I never did either.
Everything was done by apps.
We recently switched from QB desktop to QB online and had to change everything.
I still havenât found a program that imports the orders the way I want without costing an arm and leg.
I would not unless other factors were in play like a big order. Iâd probably google the address and see if there was something off as well - big apartment, cluster boxes, something like that. Then maybe.
But this is Amazon saying âwe think there is something off with this customer/address, and we want YOU to shoulder the burden instead of US by paying more to ship it, and annoy them, when we canât be bothered to deal with the customer first on your behalfâ so in general, they can stuff it afaic.
Large order today with my first signature confirmation recommended flag. Do people who get these and ship signature required have any problems?
I usually ship them without confirmation and I usually donât have issues.
Edit to add: If you are concerned about the size/value of the order, get the confirmation.
At least ensure you are fully insured on the order, and use Buy Shipping. This might be one where I google the address too.
I havenât.
@rms and others â when you ship with sig con, do you message the Buyer about this, and if yes, when?
We send a message before we ship letting the customer know the shipment will require someone to be present to sign upon delivery and that tracking and delivery information will follow.
After we have shipped, we send another to give tracking information and approximate delivery date. Since we use USPS, we explain instructions on how to sign up for shipment updates from USPS and view the USPS estimated date of delivery.
As a buyer, Iâve never received a message saying a signature will be needed, so not sure if messaging is expected. Iâm interested in seeing the replies to this question.
Have you had (surprise!) sig con Amazon deliveries as a Buyer?
Yes, but Iâve never been messaged that one would be needed.
On my orders page, there is now (for about three months?) a box to check if signature is going to be required. I have no idea what the buyer receives, if anything. And I have never bought an Amazon product that required it.
