Like the self driving cars, I think those of us that live in fly-over “most of the year isn’t idyllic Southern California weather” country won’t be seeing these for a while.
Too much wind, lots of rain, gets really cold, gets really hot, does both in the same day, etc.
I am surprised that the poster who is selling optics, has not been advised by an Amazonian or a fellow seller that if his product needs drop proofing, it needs drop proofing whether shipped by drone, common carrier or Amazon logistics. And that if it needs drop proofing it is his responsibility to package it in drop proof packaging for Amazon to fulfill.

Care to disclose what data you are capturing on this drone? Photography of our backyards? Tracking the activity of passers by who are running Amazon apps? Spying on your delivery drivers without disclosure? Some nefarious practice only your C-suite would be capable of dreaming up?

I don’t disagree - frankly speaking, in my neck o’ woods, many folks are probably more likely to be inclined to hone some of their trap- or skeét-shooting skills at the mere appearance of an over-flying drone than not - but I still consider this a MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN moment…
That’s a fair point - but I know who that poster is, and I’m fairly certain that his/her main concern is for the drop-test requirements increasing costs simply as a result of 3 feet being extended by one or more orders of magnitude - 30 feet, 300 feet, 3000 feet in order to accommodate drone shipping delivery… ![]()
