Something OLD was OK, but not today

So today, I’m updating pictures.

In doing so, I have to take out what used to be ok. Paragraph breaks.

They have been there since the dawn of time.

Can’t save until they are removed.

And for some listings it’s not a problem!

They took HTLM a while ago, I imagine that further cheapening the listings eliminating paragraph breaks is a way to force everybody to use A+
Let’s see how long the leave line breaks, before everything turns into big clumps of text

But I can still use punctuation, right?

Right?

Agreed. I’ve been editing a lot of listings today and sometimes the computer catches it, sometimes it doesn’t.

I looked from the Amazon side on some listings I didn’t need to edit and the paragraph breaks are still there.

NOW I’ve ran into a “COLOR” problem. Ivory is already in the system and it wants me to update or rather correct that color field. Doesn’t matter what I put in there, it won’t save. Opened a case and they said give it 24-48 hours. Then sent an email asking for feedback. The chat person did fine. But geez, you don’t know if the solution worked until 24-48 hours later.

We resorted to using double breaks
< br >
< br >
to solve creating a paragraph look.

Note: remove the spaces before and after the “br”

Yep, and now those need to be deleted before it will save other edits.

I thought that HTML was not allowed
I mocking Amazon for forcing it on everybody, but I do have everything on A+

I expect this is a temporary solution. Sooner or later, Amazon will crack down on line breaks too.

Agree as I am seeing it bit by bit today.

Half of my edits were OK.

The other half not until I deleted the breaks.

They apparently are taking lessons from all the wall of text posts in the NSFE.

I can’t believe some people think other sellers will read all the crap buried in those.

This was one post by a guy who actually did a decent job on one post and then made a second post about the same issue.

Maybe he was hitting the sauce between posts :rofl::rofl:

A. No Resilient Cushioning Material The product consists of a water-filled sensory center and an air-filled border (maximum height 1.7 inches). Aaaand there goes the punctuation.

Yep, not reading all that um C R A P.

Even in the bullet points, I keep it simple. My competitor (PITA) from years ago uses that section and each bullet point is a paragraph. Never knew there was so much to say about a darn doily

We have used line breaks for years and they went through just fine with the title edits that we just did. We know it was in the help pages on what was allowed when writing the description. It said that no HTML could be used except for the line break which was allowed.

EDIT ADD:

Product detail page rules

I understand and agree, line breaks are explicitly allowed.

I have no confidence that will not change at some random point in the future, likely with no warning.

Guess I’m starting to see the change.

Some were fine, some weren’t. NO rhyme or reason

Thanks!
Amazon is so Amazon. “it’s forbidden, except for it isn’t”
What prevents seller from just doing multiple line breaks to separate paragraphs?
In any case, thanks for finding the policy

Actually…we were told to remove all . at the end of sentences in the bullet points because it was getting rejected in the system. This happened last year, but we apparently are not supposed to be using complete sentences.

I foresee the day when the will forbid English, on the grounds that the employees don’t understand it.

Ok for the fragment that a preposition is ended with?

Don’t use end punctuation
Do use semicolons;

Should we just skip all this words stuff and have AI write everything in binary so that it is easier for computers to understand?

Nothing … using two line breaks back to back creates the paragraph look … that is what we do and have done for several years.
