Does Amazon still accept Target invoices to unlock brands?
Invoices or receipts? The RA/OA business hasn’t been an acceptable practice in quite a while.
Invoices.
Target issues an invoice for every online purchase and Amazon has always accepted it.
As Amazon is always changing its policies, I wanted to confirm if they are still accepting it.
It’s a throw of the dice at this point. It does appear that it’s gotten harder, and it very much depends on the brand…
Something recently posted here which is a good read:
https://test.sellersasksellers.com/t/letter-of-authorization/5765?u=asv_vites
Be aware that accepting something for ungating purposes does not guarantee that they will accept the same documents if there are complaints of authenticity. Many reports of people running into that.
I’ll also point out that the piece of paper Target provides that says “Invoice” is still technically a receipt, at least in Amazon’s eyes.
Online purchases of what at target gives you an invoice? It’s always an online receipt.
I think technically they are packing slips or order acknowledgements even though they may say invoice.
As @ASV_Vites said, roll of the dice at this point, but Target is not a wholesale distributor, they are a retailer so I would error on the side of Amazon won’t accept.
You’re right but Bots read Invoice as “Invoice”, so you never know. Amazon is that dumb. They think they are smart, but they aren’t.
We all know that RA is a dangerous game on Amazon. Seller / OP - Beware…
This doesn’t make much sense, in the last 30 days I have received “Customer Complaints About Product Authenticity” on two different products.
One of them I purchased from Home Depot and the other from a third-party seller within Walmart.
I tried printing out my purchases from both sites (Home Depot and Walmart) and Amazon accepted it and removed the “Customer Complaints About Product Authenticity” from my account.
That doesn’t sound right at all!
The Traget document says “Invoice”. I unlocked 3 brands with these invoices last year, but I don’t know if they still accept them and I need to buy 200 units.
You are correct that is says invoice, but technically they are not invoices.
As with everything Amazon, what has worked in the past may not work now or in the future
You might be missing the point.
It could work
It might not
Nobody here knows, nobody at Amazon knows.
We are all at the mercy of Amazon’s bots. Best practice is to source directly from the brand or one of their authorized distributors.
For a belt and suspenders approach, sellers should also have a LOA (letter of authorization) from the brand.
What you are doing is dangerous and could cause an issue, or maybe not.
You need to make that decision if you don’t have the ability to source as described above.
It can depend on the brand, and the nature of the complaint (at least, from what I can gather from various threads on NSFE).
Although I’m surprised that something from a 3P seller passed muster…
The thing to remember with RA/OA is that it works great, until it doesn’t. I know a lot of people who have done quite well at it; but I wouldn’t risk my account personally.
Hi @fegodX ! Did your Target invoice reflect this purchase? And did that satisfy for ungating?
