Priceless!
We used to have a front load washer where you could access the filter from the front to clean it. The Whirlpool one we have now has the filter buried far inside the machine. Here’s 2 pennies from the handful of change the technician removed from ours. I guess one was there for a few years.
For Windows 10 users, as 10 nears end of support, will you purchase the extended support or upgrade your hardware (as necessary)? With talk of 12 being 1-3 years out, I’m leery of upgrading my hardware to move to 11 if there is a possibility, I will have to do it again for 12. I want my next upgrade to last 10 plus years. I’m doubtful I would buy another desktop past my 80th B-day.
We had a front load machine, soon after they became popular for consumers.
The darn thing would stop pumping intermittently. Always do my own repairs, the filter out of the pump was exactly the size of a quarter. Finally figured out, when it was having a problem draining to remove the line and then remove the quarter.
Thing was, it would spin in the tube, since it was apparently exactly the same size. So sometimes it would drain and other times not so much.
Fact is stranger than fiction.
I’m using Windows 10 too and have the same concerns.
Also, my current laptop has an Intel Core i3 10th generation processor. I was told that I will need to upgrade it to i4 or get a new computer.
We would think, if you bought a computer now with an Intel Core i7 or better with Windows 11 loaded on it now, that you would be ok if Windows 12 comes out in 1 to 3 years.
The 3 laptops that we had that couldn’t upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10 were running on Intel Pentium and originally came with Windows 7. That was 2009 to Oct 2021
Yes, it’s highly likely that Windows 12 will support Intel Core i7 processors, especially those of the 8th generation and newer, as Windows 11 already does.
Here’s a more detailed explanation:
- Windows 11 Compatibility:
Windows 11 has specific minimum system requirements, including processor generations, for Intel and AMD CPUs. Specifically, it requires at least an 8th generation Intel Core processor or newer.
- Windows 12 Likely to Follow Suit:
It’s reasonable to expect that Windows 12 will also maintain similar or slightly stricter minimum requirements, potentially building upon Windows 11’s requirements.
- Focus on Newer Hardware:
Microsoft’s approach tends to be to focus on supporting newer hardware generations, ensuring the best performance and security for the latest operating system.
- No Official Information Yet:
Microsoft hasn’t officially released the system requirements for Windows 12, so these are predictions based on their past practices.
Me three. And I had already added a mod to make my 10 look like Vista. ![]()

For what it’s worth, Win11 will continue to be supported for a while yet, even after Win12 comes out. The release of Win12 won’t require an update.
LOL at
. I don’t really like Vista either, but I loathe 10, and it was what I could manage on my system.
I don’t really understand this, but to each their own.
I upgraded to 11… A year ago? Something like that. As far as I’m concerned it’s fine. Mostly.
IMO, it’s not worth fighting tech change when it comes to operating systems.
Yea, it’s annoying but the further you are behind, the worse applications tend to work.
And the downsides of an unsupported operating system are too great.
Especially when it comes to security.
See, my “apps” (programs) are all working just fine for me right now. Switching to 10 was a nightmare that I don’t want to repeat unless there’s benefit (to me, not Microsoft).
It’s the same reason my mobile phone is from 2018, and my car is from 2007: I don’t want to be moved into the NeXt BiG tHiNg without solid benefit for my self, my usage, and my time. They are usually an expense I don’t need, “upgrades” I don’t want, and new versions that wuss out too soon–or come with one of my pet peeves, like subscriptions or “smartness” or automated involuntary cloud connectivity. Personally, I don’t chase tech.
But everyone is different, and we will all judge others to be less clever than ourselves for our own reasons. ![]()

But seriously, I’m jealous. Wish I’d known in 2007 what I know in 2025
And when you are really old …
Wish I knew in 2025 what I knew in 2007.
That took me a min to get. I might be old
