I ordered a few things in the past 2 weeks.
Each order was shipped FedEx.
The first, it was 5 hours from origin point to my house. I understand that of course it will not come directly to me and go through some warehouses.
4 days to go 1.5 hours away. (62 miles)
2 days to go another 1.5 hours away. (65 miles)
4 days to go the final 2 hours to the delivery warehouse (30 miles)
2 days to get on a truck to be delivered.
The Eta given by the seller was 3 days. I contacted them after 3 days and they had to contact their FedEx customer service that is how it finally arrived at the 2nd stop. FedEx kept sending me updates for every day that it was coming the next day until it actually arrived.
2nd 2 hours from origin point to me supposed to be delivered within 2 days
2 days sitting in origin warehouse
4 days to go the 65 miles to delivery warehouse.
Allegedly out for delivery today.
3rd supposed to be delivered today.
Left origin warehouse 3 days ago, has not arrived anywhere. Granted it is 862 miles about a 14 hour drive.
Still 3 days and no scans.
Ordered an item on Ebay 2 weeks ago. Seller shipped the wrong item, an OEM keyboard. Chrome layout instead of Windows layout. Refunded without return quickly. Although the page was still active for the Windows keyboard, he would not tell me if he had any.
Ordered a keyboard from a seller in North Dakota who shipped via FEDEX. Ebay had a reasonable arrival date estimate. When FEDEX got the package it estimated 3 day arrival, which was I thought to be unlikely. It maintained that estimate for three days, in spite of it spending two of those days in Chicago. It arrived in 5 days, the earliest time in the Ebay estimate.
FEDEX is often the cheapest carrier and you get what you pay for.
To talk about the state of Ebay selling.
Both sellers offered free shipping on a thirteen dollar keyboard.
First seller claimed the keyboard weighed only 8 oz. Shipped in original inner carton.
Second seller claimed it weighed 2 lbs 8 oz, and shipped in original inner carton, in two USPS priority mail bubble mailers, sandwiched between pieces of Priority Mail boxes, in a trash bag, covered in packing tape. Via FEDEX.
Something tells me they’ve had issues with the keyboards being damaged in transit before. The fact that you’re talking OEM & Windows vs Chrome tells me you’re talking laptop replacement keyboards. They’re not super sturdy.
Not sure I can excuse that last outer packaging though. In a trash bag? Really?
Whenever I order shipping supplies from the same ebay seller, multiple cartons NEVER arrive on the same day and the first carton is ALWAYS late. Last delivery, the delivery confirmation photo was next to a car that was not mine and not on my property. Calling FedEx lead nowhere and seller is never responsive. I would order elsewhere but cannot find another seller with the same product.
Costco orders are the same way. Multiple packages never arrive at the same time. I don’t know how Fed-Ex ground stays in business.
FEDEX Ground stays in business based on price and price alone.
@VitRhea keyboard was a desktop keyboard. Apparently Lenovo did try a Chrome-based desktop, and I guess we know where the kbs went when they realized it was not a good seller.
They got it to FedEx on Monday 1-12-2026. FedEx has notified us twice that it will be delivered on 1/15-2026 … but it hasn’t moved since arriving at FedEx on 1-12-2026.
We have ordered from this place several times and it is always the same thing. We know the package will show up on 1-20-2026 or 1-21-2026. This seller ships using FedEx SurePost which we all know is no longer and isn’t passed off to USPS any more. In this case, we think FedEx is just providing the service at the speed of which it was actually paid for.
