In bygone eras of the pre-NSFE ASF (‘Amazonese’ for “Amazon Seller Forums”, such as the ‘Age of Jive’ between 020212 & 020218 and the succeeding ‘Age of Discourse’ between 020218 & 012623, it was not particularly unusual for inexperienced folks - “Newbie-wan Kenobis,” if you will to mistake threads appearing in Seller Central’s Seller Forums widget as a direct communication intendedspecifically for them.
In those days of yore, some of us would take the time to reply with a correction of that misconception, as one user did in the above-linked thread on 062526; it must be admitted that some of us were not always particularly kind in doing so.
Admittedly, I was not particularly fond of some of the more brusque or vituperative replies, as Life has taught me the facility of a venerable adage, “You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar,” but I understood the most-likely impetus which drove much of that sort of thing - i.e., a realization that, given Amazon’s habitual tendency to wield a sledgehammer even when a scalpel might be a more-appropriate tool, it’s not uncommon for the sins of the few to often be visited upon the many; as most all of us know, myriads of examples of that paradigm playing out in real time are available.
Reading through the vast majority of the responses to that 060326 NSFE discussion - to which the OP posted a “Never Mind” reply the very next day - I find myself feeling a little-less unfavorable regarding such terse responses…
I am wondering about the post from Homemade Delights.

Kind regards,
Is this tongue in cheek? Or do they just respond this way when they don’t have a clue?
My vote would go to the latter choice, but (as always) I could be wrong.
I base that upon the fact that they seem to be domiciled in Argentina, selling imported Patagonian cat food, the Detailed Seller Information on their Seller Profile specifies an address in Doral, FL’s cluster of Freight Forwarders & 3PL warehouses, and the fact that their SunBiz Profile specifies use of a Registered Agent in Miami known to be popular in more than a few Latin American nations.
I can’t say that I was never mean.
I did my best to be helpful, but there were times when it was just so absurd that there were two options, either you’re too dumb to walk and talk at the same time, or you’re just trolling.
I remember one guy that was selling a “spice grinder” that was 3D printed and looked so crappy. Or the famous “do I buy from Amazon and then list”. I always felt that those needed to be pruned out quickly because their bad antics caused broken-window theory and cheapened the site. Amazon has enough flaws as it is.
And then there were the other ones that I was deliberately hostile to. I’ve forgotten their names, but the idiot that kept bugging and spamming all the threads that sold the used TVs, the lady that had the little girl on the profile, the other dumb*** that had the woodchuck (eta, @vtr loved that guy). They earned mean/rudeness, even if it wasn’t polite, and in retrospect does cheapen the contributions that I may have done to the osfe.
The real master of the absurd claim was the pill kit declared as a tea tray. Apparently on the strength of the photo that showed it possible to carefully balance a teacup on part of the kit.
I’ll go as far as to say that the only two frequent posters I don’t remember ever losing composure were @ASV_Vites and @oneida_books
I remember once that @Dogtamer did a post that started with “this is out of character for me, but…” he then decimated the recipient with scrabble and sunday words. Probably his most liked post on the page
Mind you, there could also be meanness towards frequent and extremely knowledgeable posters.
Redwing was very knowledgeable and boy did I want to fight him sometimes. Same thing, JWS was the rudest person in the forum for no other reason than cause. But he knew his stuff in and out.
Fusie was a troll. He never had helpful information or even correct information. He was a typing ball of ignorance, attitude, specious reasoning, and a wildly inflated theory of his own competence.
The people @Tallytony is talking about may not have been the friendliest posters, but they knew their stuff and never tried to convince new sellers that dropshipping from Costco is safer for their account than buying from a manufacturer because Costco is well known so Amazon will recognize the valid receipts right away.
Actually, RedWing would give very dangerous advice on drop shipping and barcodes. Those are my main qualms with what he posted. He was extremely agile, and very knowledgeable on FBA, but what he recommended was often half a step from a steep ledge for somebody who was not as skilled as he.
I don’t think it’s the right name, but was that the guy who kept insisting that dropshipping was fine, and bragged that he had gotten out of 17 complaints so far that year (like claiming that you’re a good driver because you got out of 17 tickets).
He finally revealed that he kept a lawfirm on retainer to fight his cases; then he disappeared a few months later.
I don’t think so.
Redwing was a very serious seller, and more than dropshipping he spoke of RA. I said it wrong in my post.
He did recommend RA a a valid path on Amazon, my error saying he spoke of ds.
He also disputed that barcodes had to be from GS1 or had to be placed always in the same place in a package. This second part is technically correct, but aesthetically and professionally wrong.
I was in a group with Redwing and he enjoyed greatly talking about the James Webb telescope. In addition he was very knowledgeable on FBA. Again, he was a very good seller that mostly forgot that others were not as experienced as he, and sometimes gave advice that could easily kill newbies. I don’t think however, I actually I’m very convinced, that he was not ill intentioned or wanted to cause damage to other sellers.
