Today's special guest: The Offensive products Bot

The “Offensive products” bot seems to be off-leash at the moment. Apparently it is enjoying its freedom, roaming across the vast landscape of Amazon, acting as a bully and raiding every ASIN that has made eye contact…

In the past few hours, it has taken down 8 of my ASINs, deeming them “offensive”.
2 ballpoint pens, 4 mechanical pencils, and 2 highlighters.
Nope, they are not shaped like a pistol or a weapon.
They do not have anime girls that look like age 13 with big boobies on them.
They are not printed with any slogans; in fact there are no words on them other than the brand name.

I have no idea what triggered this and how “offensive” pens can be, unless someone/Amazon is offended by the words “black body” or “multi-color” in the title… :skull:

They really like to ruin ppl’s Fridays, don’t they? SMH

…And now there’s 12.
Is this something like the absurd “plant and seed” bot a while ago?
Maybe I should stop wasting my time dealing with these and just wait for posts to blow up on the NSFE.

OK, so is it the bot who gets offended or??? Where’s the bar???
LOL

IDK where’s the bar, I only know that it’s 14 now and somehow the new titles contain words like “White” and “Brown”…

I guess Amazon is supporting DEI in its own way.

At least they admit no human action contributed to this

It’s begun:

Amazon has long had a tendency to unleash policing Amabots in anticipation of sales events such as Prime Day, and as we all well know, the triggering parameters are often poorly targeted.

This year appears to be no exception.

But the site will be considered freshly scrubbed, sanitary and ready for Prime Day.

Yes, the bots are “triggered” alright… that’s all I’m going to say.

Ball is offensive
Black is offensive
color is offensive
Offensive is offensive
The is offensive

And Emet is sorta on it? At least asking for case ids.

Can confirm that Amazon appears to be fixing it at the moment.

Eventually they took down 16 ASINs of mine.
I’ve only appealed 10 out of the 16 on Friday.
Now it has reduced to only 1 left.

No explanation (as always) on why this happened, just the “We received your submission and we have started the process of reinstating the product detail page.” email.

Well I guess it’s better they scrubbed the site squeaky clean before than during the actual act event. :joy:
