There are many third-party apps that provide historical pricing data for products sold on Amazon by scraping data, but most of those are at a cost, require registration, and/or can not quite guarantee their data (though I personally have found both Keepa and CamelCamelCamel helpful, for different things–no affiliation with either, though!).
But what about Sellers who don’t want to pay or register for pricing updates? Or prefer more targeted or reliable data?
Two options recently mentioned elsewhere on SellersAskSellers:
Sellers, how are you using native Amazon features for price tracking? Are there other free options from Amazon? Or are there reasons you prefer third-party apps to Amazon? What are your tips for Sellers to keep track of competitors’ pricing and conversion price history?
ugh… I hate this new feature. We run a deal on our top seller for 12 hours a week, ever week… It clearly can be seen in the price history…. If buyers pick up on this and we see a sales shift, we are going to have to pivot…. We use those deals to acquire new customers for the brand, not to make a reasonable profit.
I had previously checked prices only on expensive stuff, but it’s easier to do it for everything now. When I’ve done it in the past, I will wait for the price to go down if the price often dips.
If you want to not show those dips, try coupons. Of course, those cost money.
They don’t work like lightning deals. Plus we don’t pay deal fees bc of paying for SAS so it’s been nice. I’m thinking this won’t mean much for our type of product but time will tell.
