Transaction Report does not contain SKU column anymore?

I use my SKU’s to match transactions to my product cost database in a master workbook, now I don’t see a SKU column on the date range transaction report. Other columns I used that were on that report are also missing, such as Fulfillment Method, FBA Fees, and more. I don’t see a way to add/remove or show/hide columns.

It has dropped from 30 columns to 10. Is there a new report that combines all this data?

Can it be found in Flat file in Statements?

..Amazon Sign-In

but you’ll have to wait till payday

I’ve never used Flat File reports, is there anything I need to know? Are they .csv ?
I am using the custom date range for a year-to-date report.

It’s a text file - I open it in Excel

Try 1 see if it has what you need

I see SKU and Fulfillment are on that but it is a .txt file and details of each transaction are on two rows so not sure how I can import the data to columns in Excel.

Yeah, each line is a breakdown of the transaction.

  • Principal
  • Tax
  • MarketplaceFacilitatorTax-Principal
  • Commission
  • etc

Programs Like Crystal Reports could be used to either Group by order-id and make it all 1 line or to total-up by Sku.

And all those entries, and FBA Fees, are listed in the same column. There are no Promotional Rebates that I can see.

Why does Amazon break things?

I was trying to right-click and open with Excel but it wasn’t a shown option and I couldn’t find it in Browse other options - I have Office 360.

I am struggling with Windows 11.

Can you save the flat file & then go to Excel & go to DATA → Import from Text?

You should be able to open the file from within Excel, if you can’t open with Excel by right-clicking.

I prefer Import from text because you can then select which columns should be TEXT columns.

Order Id’s tend to start doing wierd things like subtract (114-5768310-4640206)

Your way is better, no questions asked. But if @primetime can’t make that work, they should be able to get something useful just opening the file. At least, I hope so.

I just downloaded & checked the auto-generated Daily Custom Unified Transaction Date Range Report in the Reports Repository for yesterday, after seeing your report of this apparent Amaglitch, and find that the same 30 columns (‘A’ to ‘AD’) are present that have been for some time, including the ones which you’ve found unavailable.

In an effort to duplicate what you’re seeing, I downloaded the same file to different machine configs (OS-Browser combinations which run different installed versions of MS Office, as far back as v. 12 [Office 2007]), and was still not able to replicate what you’re seeing; tried again using an iteration of Office 365, but found no success in duplicating the problem that way, either.

On the theory that choosing a wider Date Range than the Daily Report encompasses - which is, after all, pretty-much undoubtedly the way than most 3P Sellers utilize this functionality - I ran the same tests for a newly-generated Month-To-Date Report, but still failed to produce the same truncation of available columns.

I can envision quite a few things that could be producing your unsatisfactory results, in contrast to what you’ve previously experienced in regularly provisioning your Master Workbook’s accounting records, but I suspect that the first thing I’d check would be certain default settings of the Native Browser of the Win11 OS you’re using, Microsoft Edge - even if you’re not actively using it on a regular basis, and have set another web browser as Default, there are some overriding considerations that can only be manipulated by digging into the provided Settings GUIs (or at a Group Policy level, or even deeper, but let’s not go there yet).

We would look at the top line that contains the attribute name and look closely at the column letters on top. If there is a skip in the alphabet, then Amazon has hidden a few columns like they have done on the category template excel files. When this happens, just place your cursor between the two columns showing a skip and right click. From there … you should be able to see a selection to “unhide” and the columns will expand with the missing ones. You may have to do this in a couple of places along the columns but it is easy to find looking at the column’s letters.

@Dogtamer 's findings tend to validate our suspected cause mentioned above.

Yes, that is what I did. Sorry I had to leave after that last post, to pick up my kitten who got spayed today, poor thing.

Thank you all for your efforts, support and willingness to help me. I discovered what I was doing wrong (so I’m not quite beyond help yet). It was the report location, ever since they started the Reports Repository I forget since I always just went to the Payments - Transaction view before. Now I have to find it in the Repository which I thought I tried at the beginning of this saga today but apparently not.

So, in sorting out which Transaction type reports have what columns, I have created a list for each:

You guys are the best, this forum is the best.

Apologies to Amazon for blaming them.

While I’m pleased to find that you’ve found the SAS to be what so many of us have since its founding, the BSFE (“BEST Seller Forums Experience”), and that the collaboration of our Seller Community was able to help, I would caution against apologizing to Amazon in any shape, fashion, or form, even when it’s warranted - publicly-visible or not - because the vast abundance of available evidence strongly suggests that this statement likely falls close to the mark:

If ya give `em an inch, they’ll do their damnedest to take a mile…
