It used to be if you had a UPS account you could order free supplies.
They seem to have cut that off, so if you don’t use your UPS account specifically to ship they will no longer give you free supplies. Basically based on volume it costs us 2-5x as much to use our own account as it does to use stamps, Veeqo, ebay or amazon.
I need some suggestions for sources for Zebra rolls 4 x 6 any suggestions?
Yeah I figured this was coming, Fedex did the same thing years back, only a matter of time for UPS to catch up and figure out those thermal rolls aren’t free for them to buy either
Disclaimer: I have 0 vested interest in any of these.
Your options depend on your volume and if you need desktop (1" core) or industrial (3" core).
Uline has the benefit of volume so their 4x6" purchase price is going to be rock bottom beyond the big shipping companies. You may not be able to beat it anywhere (if they’re passing sufficient savings along and you’re not paying through the nose for next-day convenience).
Amazon / eBay will likely be full of sketchy sellers selling their old UPS ill gotten gains. Buckeye is also cheap if you’re doing volume and can store them. Make sure you know what you’re looking for, though, 'cause they do direct thermal & thermal transfer. Options abound.
I know you said rolls but I switched from rolls and brought these a year ago for $60 ($80 now) and they have worked fine in my zebra printer. They appear to be expired UPS original. I am a fanfold fan for less waste and jamming issues than rolls. https://www.ebay.com/itm/306986866721?
We dropped down to Limited Access level already because almost all my UPS labels are purchased through ShipWorks account or Amazon Buy Shipping account.
Poshmark offers free USPS Ground Advantage branded shipping envelopes and boxes from Victory Packaging with your seller account. I listed a jacket a few weeks ago, and have been able to order 50 pieces total at a time. The boxes are large, one is about the size of the discontinued Priority Mail Regional “C” box, the other the shoe box size. The GA poly bubble mailers are softer and much more cushioned than the PM version. The large padded paper mailers are much better quality than the kind Amazon used in the past. I have not ordered the large poly mailers yet.
Nope. I kept seeing another seller at the PO and asked where he got them. Poshmark. So, of course I signed up right away. Used the poly bag this week and I got a lot in it. IIRC it’s 14x17.
What is interesting is the base price seems to be $0.02 per label
but if you buy more rolls it goes up to $0.04 per label.
Guess they figure most people won’t do the math.
The cases of 6,000 fan-fold 4x6 thermal labels feeds into ANY of the “Zebra/UPS” style printers through that slot in the back, BELOW the hinge where the top opens to accept the puny 3-inch core rolls. To make the job more fun, we keep them in “Fat” .50 Cal (PA108) ammo boxes, which have a nice gasketed seal to keep them dry, and allow the shipping guys to “reload” the crucial “crew-served weapons” at the head of the shipping station, doging and ducking to avoid any enemy snipers that might be hiding in the warehouse.
Sometimes, ya just gotta make work more FUN, and reloading printers can have its own special song (“Eye of the Tiger”, currently) on the Tannoy, and a celebration of having shipped 6,000 boxes hither and yon. I’d add beers, but OSHA would have me beheaded.
