My UPS Ground Saver labels started printing with USPS Parcel Select tracking on the lower half once again.
Darn.
Side note: I will continue to use UPS Ground Saver on Amazon, eBay, and Wal-Mart packages, but not our websites.

Yeah I saw they removed that a few months back last one I had like that (via pirateship) was October.
That being said, if UPS is in your neighborhood/going to your address anyway they tend to deliver it themselves
Today was the first day my Amazon Buy Shipping UPS Ground Saver printed with USPS tracking. Same for my ShipWorks software.
My last UPS Ground Saver without USPS being involved was from 12/26/2025.
FedEx SmartPost (now called FedEx Ground Economy) was still being delivered by USPS up until recently also. We buy from a place that still ships saying it is FedEx Smart Post but the last package was delivered by FedEx and never got the secondary USPS label. In the past, the exchange would happen in Fort Worth and would be here two days later. This time it took two days to get out of Fort Worth and another 3 days to get out of Lubbock and to us ( so 3 days longer than before).
Had a USPS package going to Hawaii from Texas with transit time of 5 days. After 5 days, it scanned in Brooklyn NY (should have went through Los Angeles). This is our second package to Hawaii that has been miss routed away from the destination.
USPS stopped handling any UPS about a year ago in this area.
I would still be very careful … as in I would never choose that again.
Amazon covers INRs. Yes.
But eBay, Walmart, and etsy do not cover INRs. YOU do. Now when it’s a combination, there’s no insurance on those like there is on Ground Saver only UPS or only USPS.
How do I know? Had to eat a big order where I thought I had $100 of insurance, but got told NO because it was a combo label.
Just my opinion.

For Walmart, have you tried buying a label directly from Seller Center?
Walmart does offer us the protections for delivery issues, but only if the label is purchased from Seller Center directly. I had to stop using my ShipWorks program and use Seller Center for all my Walmart packages.
For Etsy, I do know they offer Purchase Protection for Sellers, but I cannot remember needing to use it for a porch pirate.
Side note: I believe the UPS Ground Saver insurance value will be $50 per package, but the UPS account I use for UPS Ground Saver only provides $20 per package, not $50. I am not sure if all UPS accounts have the same value for Ground Saver labels.
Walmart: I have heard that and I have also read that when marked as delivered, it’s denied. So I honestly don’t know. In the beginning I compared shipping prices and Walmart was more expensive. (99% of my orders are under 16 ounces)
I had a personal package where I used UPS/USPS combo, it was marked as delivered, my friend said it never arrived…and I lost the claim. I used my ShipStation account to buy it thinking I had $100 of insurance automatically and got told no because it was a shared shipment.

The included $100 insurance is on USPS Ground Advantage label. UPS to USPS doesn’t create a USPS Ground Advantage label. If you had purchased insurance on that, we don’t even know who you would put the claim in with as both carriers would have handled it (maybe).
UPS Ground Saver worked amazingly for us while there was no involvement with USPS. No issues with claims or deliveries. All worked smoothly with UPS.
UPS does offer up to $50 per package for UPS Ground Saver declared value or insurance, but the protection ends once USPS scans the label. I wonder if your package was accepted by USPS then stolen before the delivery by a postal worker or after delivery by a porch pirate.
Side note: This is in the UPS terms for Ground Saver. The terms also states that if a shipper purchases additional insurance on a Ground Saver label that the value would be null and void. Possibly in case someone enters something in that box on Amazon Buy Shipping and it goes through with a glitch.
So…I got one of these the other day without realizing it until after I shipped - by, as I do with everything, putting it out for pickup from my USPS carrier. They took it.
But now, neither USPS or UPS show actual tracking. UPS says it’s “on the move” but neither acknowledge pickup. That happened on Friday. I know, holiday weekend, etc., but I’d expect USPS to have something by now.
Anyone else made this mistake? What do you think will happen? I’m hoping USPS just handles it, but I’m not sure and my customer is already asking why no movement… uggghhhhh
Go to your location USPS post office where your mailman originates from and ask if they have the package setting aside. USPS not longer has UPS drop offs so there is no longer an easy way to pass it onto UPS like USPS use to do. If they don’t have it, they might know what happen to it. Hopefully, it wasn’t passed on as dead mail and sent to USPS Atlanta dead mail.
Also continue to track it for a couple more days. But more or likely, you will have to take care of the customer with a refund or reship (which ever customer wants).
Tough lesson to learn by.
I got my first one ever of these Saturday and there is no way for me to get this into the system no UPS on Saturday here. Cancelled label and brought on PirateShip. So no protection on that order. My template is for GA only and I seriously doubt that this method would arrive any faster than GA. Being this is the first I’ve ever had, I’m hoping it is a glitch.
Give it a day or two, most post offices will hand off to UPS/Fedex as this happens all the time, but they have to wait till UPS shows up to deliver something to them (happens with PO boxes)
I agree, our post office has a bin out the back dock for FedEx and UPS and they don’t lean forward anymore and get it delivered to them, nor does UPS or FedEx pick them up REGULARLY. No cooperation.
A company my wife orders from use to ship FedEx SmartPost (last mile was to be USPS). Even though the program ended (and had a name change), the company continued to use it but FedEx was the one who has been doing the last mile delivery. Service was super slow.
Today’s order from them shows DHL with USPS being the last mile. It will be interesting to see how long it takes now compared to what FedEx was doing.
I noticed yesterday when using Buy Shipping that in some cases, the UPS Ground Saver had the same delivery date as UPS Ground whereas typically there’s an extra day tacked on. I would assume that the extra day indicates that the USPS will be handling the delivery while same day as Ground would indicate that UPS is doing the delivery.
Well it got moving. Now the USPS tracking shows the full history, including the pick up last friday. It shows delayed, but moving.
Still…it made a stop overnight in Dallas which is not typical for things I ship from S. Fl. Most leave here and land in their target state, in this case it’s going to the PNW.
Meanwhile it’s a repeat customer, she’s super nice about it (declined refund or replace) and ok if it takes a couple of days (RIP my OTDR), will watch and see…
Oh and today all my shipments are showing UPS GS as the first choice, because it’s one penny less than USPS GA!
I don’t see a way to remove/de-prioritize UPS as my preferred shipments anymore…
If you have AHT and SSA enabled, your template should look like this
It can be found in the SAS Confidential > Resources
