USPS recycling very recent tracking numbers?

I just got a claim today for one of these recycled numbers (February order). The tracking says it was delivered in December in another state. The case was ruled against us even though we used Amazon postage, shipped on time, etc.

This is the first claim we’ve received on a recycled number.

Is there a specific template for these recycled tracking number claims we should be using to get this reversed back in our favor?

I’m not aware of any ‘settled consensus’ being reached in the Seller Community for a template in this situation, a la various versions of the famed Spoony/Shanti INR Letter, but I do think were I to craft one it would include referral to the protections promised in the 022825 News Headline linked upthread in Post #58.

It might be more-expedient simply to make a reply to one of KJ’s posts in the Headline-accompanying NSFE discussion (link).

I just appealed it saying we used Amazon shipping and the Amazon tracking info shows scans within the handling time and delivery within the EDD. I also said the USPS site shows that tracking number being delivered in December which couldn’t be possible since the order was in February. I will definitely reach out to KJ if the appeal is denied.

Just FYI for you guys, it doesn’t appear they are covering these like they said they would. I had a mod escalate our case and it still got denied. Absolute joke. It doesn’t even seem that whoever was reading our appeals (maybe even a bot) even understands the recycled tracking number issue because they said kept saying the tracking is invalid and it’s obviously not.

Luckily, this is the only one we’ve gotten from that period.

If I was involved I’d be getting legal involved to hold them to their word (I know I know, not worth it)

Not worth it over $38….

Just got an email this was reversed in our favor. Shouldn’t have taken 6-7 emails for it to get done but I do appreciate the effort (I assume by a mod) to get it done. That’s the important thing.

No it shouldn’t have, but this is Amazon, this is not unexpected. I’m sure the mods even experienced issues getting it done due to the ignorance and incompetence of SS.
