Winter Storms Blair and Cora impacting delivery

Heavy snow, freezing rain, icy conditions, and severe weather events in the Central Plains through the Mid-Atlantic (New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Connecticut) may impact the processing, transportation, and delivery of mail and packages.

This includes delays with our Air Network suppliers which ultimately impact timely delivery into our USPS network. We are closely monitoring the situation within our own USPS network and that of our Air Network suppliers.

FedEx National Service Disruption

FedEx has activated contingency plans to mitigate impacts from a weather disruption at the Memphis hub last night. Potential delays are possible for package deliveries with a commitment of Friday, January 10, 2025. FedEx is committed to providing the best service possible.

There may be different levels of impact depending on selected services, city, state and ZIP Code.

Please note that shipments delayed due to a National Service Disruption are not eligible for a refund or credit under the Money-Back Guarantee policy, per the FedEx Service Guide.

Just a few comments.

• Great, now after holiday delays (telling buyers items will arrive late) we now have the “storm of the century.”

• This after we just got through the “National Day of Mourning” where Amazon could not tell us to ship or get off the pot.

• I just ordered a laptop from Dell, yesterday afternoon. It arrived at 11:30am (today) the next day. Why? Shipped Fedex, from PA, to Memphis, to Manchester Boston Regional Airport. “The Airport that Never Closes” something I spoke of often, since it was true. I served on the Airport Authority for 18 years. Airlines may cancel, yet our (my) airport never ever closed.

• I get the weather issues, I sure do get the fire disaster, so sorry for those homeowners. Especially the low income ones.

How Amazon is helping communities impacted by the LA County wildfires

As devastating wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles, our hearts go out to all those affected by this natural disaster. Amazon is deeply concerned about the impact these fires are having on our employees, their families, and the broader community. We are taking immediate action to provide support and relief during this challenging time.

Here’s what Amazon is doing to help communities affected by the wildfires in Southern California:

• Prioritizing safety. Our top priority is ensuring the safety of our employees and partners. We have a 24/7 operation dedicated to providing alerts and up-to-date information when severe events like this occur to help inform our operational decisions. As we closely monitor the situation, we’re also mobilizing our resources to support those in need.
• Delivering critical supplies and technology support. Amazon has been working with first responders, nonprofit partners, and humanitarian relief agencies on the ground in Los Angeles including the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Dream Center, International Medical Corps, World Central Kitchen, among others. We’re leveraging our recently opened Wildfire Relief Hub—located two hours east of LA and stocked with over 6,000 essential items—as well as our logistics infrastructure and technology, to deliver essential items to these organizations based on their needs. In addition to the Wildfire Relief Hub, we’ve also shipped Amazon-donated items from across our supply chain network in LA County.
• Limiting customer disruption. Additionally, with the temporary closing of some Amazon facilities—and likely damage to roads and other infrastructure—there may be impacts to customers in the region. We will utilize our national network of storage and delivery to fulfill customer orders when it’s safe to do so from outside the affected region.

As the situation evolves, we remain committed to supporting our employees and the wider community affected by these wildfires.
